I can't think of anything she's sang in the past...

My problem with Alex tends to be that I can barely remember what she sang last week, never mind anything before then. She's good, but for me she's not memorable. Which is a shame because she has a good voice.

Its the bliddy song choices
They are treating her like cannon ****ing fodder, when she is quite clearly a very good singer.

This show really grates me.

I can only remember the songs from this year, and they were all ballads: "Saving All My Love For You" (think she sang this on her 2005 audition too), "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "And I Am Telling You".....

Hmm... Anybody got any clue as to other ones? It could be something she's sang outside of the competition I guess...

Daniel has a song with the word "BABY" in it, could be perhaps "Don't Leave Me This Way" or "You To Me Are Everything"...

Ruth is doing a song with a strong powerful vocal, maybe "I Will Survive", "Young Hearts Run Free", "Knock on Wood" or something with Donna Summer? Could be anything really...

No clues to the rest as far as I know except Diana and JLS.

ruth i reckon is singing hot stuff/last dance

alex - ???

laura - wouldnt like to think what shes singing, im worried...”

hahaha so we don't know what they are singing yet?

I'm hoping that Rachel picks up where she left off last week!! Just wish that she would drop the attitude though.. Love her personality but do find it hard to warm to her simply because she is SO defensive.. poor girl..

Not just Austin's song (although it is causing me much worry!), but all of them. I love to know in advance what they are singing, so I can work out my opinions as to how it could work out, and see if they really suprise me, or even WOW me.

Austin is my favourite, but I'm open minded to all the contestants. I'm waiting for each of them to completely hit me with an overall fantastic performance.

And werdna67 - great choice!

I think my open mind when it comes to the contestants is due to my open taste in music. I like all sorts - Pop, R&B, Motown, Soul, Rock ('n' Roll) etc etc. So in a lot of respects, all the contestants could appeal to me in one way or another They can all sing but it just depends on the themes - the likes of which can be very limiting (which I'm sure the Mariah week will be)

Nice one. I like a bit of variation - my mates laugh at my music knowledge on pub quizzes, and the randomness of my mp3 lol.

One minute I'll be listening to the Beatles, then a bit of Michael Bolton, then maybe some Four Tops or something. hehe.

Although I'm not a big fan of theme weeks overall, I like the 'genre' ones compared to the 'artist' ones - more room for interpretation. Like we were sayin earlier about Working My Way Back To You being (for us at least) more soul compared to Disco, yet they fuzz the lines slightly to allow it.

Is it true there's a Beatles week this year? Or was that just rumour?

It appeared on wikipedia so it's just a rumor right now

I'm partial to a bit of Run DMC myself lol

Thanks for that ^ lady_raven. I liek The Beatles, but once again, not much room for interpretation. I just wish that they'd shake up the themes instead of having the same ones each year.

They should have a country week or shock horror indie week seeing as that music is popular right now

If they had Country Week - someone would end up singing I Will Always Love You anyway...because it IS Dolly Parton.... there are ways of sneaking round these themes lol

Uh huh she makes me piss myself sometimes too, just that sometimes I feel she can ruin it for herself by goin a bit too OTT with the in your faceness - if that makes sense? lol

She does spice up and make an otherwise boring competition interesting though.. I think she'd fit in much better on that American Idol show though .. All the girls on that show are usually the ones who suffer from inflamed egos and attitude..

''I love me, who do you love'' = American Idol females.

I suppose with her you know what you're getting, right? Shes not one of those dippy types who are all smiles for the camera and 'ever so nice' when in the spotlight.. Maybe that's an art form she needs to learn though as it does come in handy...
