Judi Dench lied to Ruth?
PingMyPong

Just read the DS article. Whilst it is fab that Ruth is getting noticed by other celebrities the article also said that JD voted for her perfomance of Purple Rain which she couldnt have done. Was JD being genuine or just lovvie-ing it up to Ruth?

maybe judi meant that she had voted for her, in the sense that she believed she deserved to stay also

I was thinking that as I read it, did DS get it wrong or did Judi Dench get the songs confused? I doubt she lied, she probably does like her the best out of the contestants but isn't a huge fan.

This is what was said, she just said she loved PR
"In fact, Dame Judi let a big secret out of the secret service bag by revealing who she wants to be the winner.
She told chanteuse Ruth Lorenzo, "I think you are wonderful and my family and I vote for you every week on the show!"

Ruth was delighted, especially when Judi continued, "You have always been our favourite - I thought the version of Purple Rain you did was outstanding too"!"

The fact the JD name checked Purple Rain made me wonder. Im sure she probably meant she loved that perfomance and has voted for her since

I really like Ruth- she has personality, emotion, power and a really genuine talent. I dont think she will win though

The article doesn't say Judi Dench voted for the Purple Rain performance though, it states she said she votes for Ruth every week, and then also that she thought Purple Rain was outstanding, not that she voted for it.

Both statements are therefore correct are they not?

Maybe she meant that she voted for her last week based on her version of 'Purple Rain' the week before.

I get the feeling Judi was being as nice as expected but doesn't actually watch the show (just can't see it myself) but what a nice thing to say to Ruth anyway, true or not.

No she did not lie to Ruth, she said she loved her rendition of Purple Rain and so is now voting for Ruth. It also said in an article i read that she has many other celebrities voting for her.
