Don't know that name, could be one of their later vocalists when they weren't as successful. Still, they never had any slouches singing their songs.
She can't have been that great as Alex has stressed, she shares a bed with her sister and loads of family, including cousins and aunts share an apartment.
Soul 2 Soul had a number of vocalists who did backing singers jobs. Caron Wheeler was the main person who went on to better things but there were some others around too.

Famous and great are not necessarily interchangeable terms, though they can go nicely together.
In many cases, famous, great, and well-payed don't always go together, especially when it comes to possibly dodgy record deals.
Also, Soul II Soul did use several good backing vocalists who were featured on respective tracks.
Anyway, Alexandra has a great voice, and her mom being in Soul II Soul, (which I thought was actually pretty cool,as they are classic ) doesn't add or detract from her own talent.
