BB told Elizabeth, when she complained about the vegetables, that BB tries to provide the best quality produce within the housemates' budget. The vegetables were actually purchased by Stuart. I'm almost certain that any of BB's usual shoppers would have picked the better food from the veg rack (as they have on previous weeks' economy purchases) rather than the manky stuff from the bottom of the pile that the housemates ended up with.

I agree, Tesco's don't even have enconomy carrots, carrots are carrots for god sake. They should have kicked up a fuss about it, they looked manky.
