My DHD400 has stopped working. When I turn the power on the red light on the front flashes for a few seconds then goes solid red, I can hear a ticking noise coming from the box, I assume that's the hard drive. The machine won't start though. I've tried pressing all the buttons on the front panel and also on the remote but nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas how I might get this box working again?

It should be the hard drive,there are no other working parts inside a thomson box.

I had the same scenario only a few days ago,

my box is the 16300,red light stayed constant on the front of the box,the box just wouldn't power on,i pressed the remote nothing at all happened,changed the batteries on the remote still nothing.

Unplugged the box for a few hours,admittedly it was very hot inside the box,hard drive was roasting,and i got it back working when i pressed the power button on the box itself,the remote control now works properly.

I thought the box was dead myself,or that the power supply had gone,the hard drive wasn't making any strange noises so i knew it was unlikely to be that.
