I have the iPod Nano that was released late 2007 and added photos ages ago that I really don't need/want on there anymore, but can't for the life of me work out how to delete them.

So any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Remove the photo from the folder that you linked to when you set the preference "synchronize photos from" and update the iPod. For example, if the iPod is getting the pictures from the folder "My Pictures," remove or delete them from My Pictures.

You may already be using this method but here's a simple "How To" on downloading and managing photos from a folder on your hard disk:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
5 When you want to change what photos are on the iPod just add or remove the photos from the folder you have made and syncronise the the iPod

God damn! now I know why I wont ever buy an ipod.

All that just to delete some photo's. Its a joke you cannot delete files off the ipod's on the fly. It is silly you have to have the ipod syncronised to do anything with it.

Why would you need to do that with photos?

Why not? If I want to delete a photo from my Nokia E65 phone, I select the offending picture, choose 'Options - Delete' and bingo, it's gone.

It's a hell of a faff to delete a picture from the iPod. It really should allow on-the-fly deletion, and iTunes should allow you to either then update the iPod from iTunes, or vice versa (I don't use iTunes, so I apologise if this functionality already exists).
