Wishing on a star by rose royce, it could a fantastic peformance but either way it's going to stick out like a sore thumb tonight cause all the other songs are uptempo, it could work in his favor or it could work against him

In his favour. He's one of the most versatile and able vocalists this year, IMO.

Making him stand out is the idea.

I hope he stands out in a good way I can see him doing a great vocal with this song.

I hope the other judges don't give him a hard time saying that its not disco though

I disagree with the versatile part of your sentence but I do agree that he is able as a vocalist. Obviously, as you stated, that's your opinion though.
I just can't warm to him. I'm not closed off to liking him, I'm just yet to see something that takes away from his desperation to make it. (This is just all my personal view though).
I think he needs to stop taking himself so seriously and relax a bit. Enjoy it more.

I hope the other judges(Dannii? Louis?) do say something about it not being disco. Simon would surely be the first one to open his mouth about it if it were someone else's act(Dannii? Louis?).

And me. It will work well for Austin though which is good. It may stop him looking quite so desperate and allow him to show what he can do.

Most discos I have ever been to end with a few slow songs for couples to smooch along to. And this is a perfect snogging song so it does meet the criteria, sort of.

It is a disco song tho..I'm pretty sure its eithe been done on XF before OR there was a show a while back, Discomania or something & I'm SURE it was done on that show..I do know that I have heard of it being associated with disco before tho, so Simon isn't doing anything wrong by choosing it at all.

Fingers crossed it gives Austin a chance to show off his vocal ability & people will appreciate the smoochy slow song of the night

Cue Louis or Danni bringing it up and Simon making some lame arse excuse just because it's his act...

I'd definitely class wishing on a star as a disco number, however, I wouldn't automatically give it to a lad to sing, that's for sure, maybe Eoghan...but Austin no! I can only hope that however he does it, it stands out for all the right reasons. He's good, and I'd hate to see him go crashing out 'cause of a poor song choice. I think that would have been an obvious choice for Alexandra, and I think she'd do a fantastic job of it.

Shame that Somebody else's guy is featuring...such a boring dirge, is it Laura who's been saddled with that one?...good luck to her!

We will have to see how well it does as it depends if people compare it to when jordin sparks did it on AI. And also if they think this is not Disco and therefore think its unfair to the others.

As to me Wishing On A Star is not Disco.

Jordin Sparks did this song on AI, it was kinda disco-ish the way she did it.

EDIT: Someone else mentioned already, sorry

Do you think they'll have it last like in a real disco?

I think it's a song you hear at the ''disco's'', las thing when everyone's (maybe a bit worse for wear!) paired off and after a touchy feely dance...

It helps if I like the song, even if the performance isn't great. But I think he will do it well anyway.
