Wow, that sounds brilliant - we have a dog and I endlessly wonder about what he knows in relation to how he behaves.

Don't know if there are any dog experts on this thread but collectively we sure know a lot about pandas, if that's any help!

Haven't even got a title yet.

Question is "Much has been written about the role of rank in the human/canine domestic "pack" both in support of the theory and against.

Write in no more than 1500 words your personal opinion of this theory and how - if at all- it relates to pet dogs and their owners.

Support with reference material, personal experience and a balance discussion.

I know, but I kind of like the tension of seeing who will go through and who will be in the dance off. Now that my favourites have long gone I'm not too bothered about anyone, although I must admit I do like Tom and Austin, but not enough to vote.

Have you seen The Dog Whisperer? The man is a genius with dogs.

Sadly we have no bell, so we just sit in the dark and pretend we're not at home- these days you never know whether they'll leave you alone, egg your house or torch your car.

is it me or does anyone else think that Cherie was well over marked - considering she forgot the last part of the routine and stood there like a lemon?

i think though it will be tough tonight - could well be Heather & Christine in bottom two - hope not want Andrew or John to go basically as weakest dancers. Love Christine but she keeps being very average with the judges.

oh on the choc front (i too love the cadbury factory!) had to buy a tin of roses for an event i was doing today but they were selling them BOGOF - so it seems i am left with a tin to eat.....

watching xfact while wait for for result.

If you know what the result is tonight, you can have a few hours getting used to the idea. I always think that, when you watch the results show, the person who has gone already knows so you might just as well know too

If Strictly had a pack, Brendan Collie would be its self-appointed leader.

If the Friday curse of ITT is anything to go by, Andrew and Heather were both dancing at the end of Fridays show - Heather was the last one to dance.

Someone also noticed that Heather was wearing pink which is an unlucky colour.

And she got a 7 from Len! Luckily she has never been in Eastenders before- at least, not that I know of.

You'll probably find one of her songs was on the Queen Vic jukebox at some time.

I agree, if Heather, John or Andrew had turned in that performance, they would have been lucky to make it to double figures.

Hi hope you are enjoying your course.

Personally I think there is a lot to be said for both sides of the argument, the main thing to take into account is the personality of the dog and owner and tailoring any work to accommodate both. You cannot treat a timid, retiring dog the same as one who is upfront and sure of themselves. Most people do not have a pack of dogs but just one or two, and observation of how they interact is the key to any training.

Sorry I am going on a bit, but it really annoys me in any training class when the person in charge has one way of doing things and does not take all the variables into account.

As you are just starting out I would say that your eyes and ears are the best tools and to observe your clients thoroughly and how they interact, there is no one way to do things, training is an art not a science.

I'll shut up now.

Ola was also in pink too. If the trends stay true then it's Andrew and Heather in the dance - maybe the combination of ITT dancing, pink and 7s is just too much to fight.

Brilliant! That made me giggle. Brendan Collie! I'd scratch his ears

Pootlemum (love the name) it's such a tragedy about the extra tin of Roses. They'll just have to go in the bin, or get given away..............

It does get tense sitting at the computer waiting and even when it come through you wonder if it is right. I remember when Gethin was knocked out last year I was so disappointed I couldn't sleep

Not just starting out been doing dog training for years. Decided that as people keep coming to me for help that getting a qualification and imdemity insurance would be a plan. As well as getting the APDT accreditation.

Totally agree that you need to take into account the individual needs.

Vet is excited as there has been no qualified trainers/behaviourists in the area for 5 years.
