Hi guys,

Ok so I have a problem I have a Philips 32PF5331/10 TV - https://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/...&scy=IE&slg=en I have broken the remote, so I am unable to change the input, it is currently on input 4 (my xbox 360 is connected to it) my sky plus is connected to input 2, and I am unable to switch between inputs without the remote control, Does anyone have any idea, I'm really stumped, and am TV-less.

Any help would be great

all my inputs are just same as channel positions - afaik all Philps TV's are like this

if you don't have your remote just press the channel change button on the actual TV

Most TV's have manual buttons which allow you to switch the AV inputs, failing that, presumably your Sky remote is set to work your TV? - if so, in TV mode the Help button usually works as the AV button.

Thank you the help button did work, it brought up a list of the inputs, however I cannot select any, I can move up and down and hilight all the available inputs eg. TV, ext1, ext2 etc... but no way of entering into the hilighted one, if you get me.

I'm moving through the inputs by physically pressing the channel up and down buttons on the television itself.

The only buttons I have are:

Vol up
Vol down
Ch +
Ch -
Menu.

Thanks guys for your help

Channel up/down should work e.g.

CAM1, EXT3, EXT2, EXT1, 0, 1, 2, 3, etc, etc

I dont mean to keep on bumping, but I guess, if anyone knows what would act as the enter button, to get into chosen input on sky remote, it would be immensly helpful, I have tried loads of combos at this stage.

Have you contacted Phillips about getting a new remote?

I screwed up a remote for a Toshiba and they got it to me within 48 hours. They did charge for it though.

Even a cheapo general remote such as "one for all" would do it as well.

They do operate, just not to change the channel from one input to another, they do work on other occasions. So I should contact Philips then?

I've had few Philips TV's and in all cases all inputs are designated as channel positions (in front of channel 0)

And if you say the channel changer is working then why isn't the input changing (to the channel) - thats weird

Mines currently on HDMI input - but if i change channel it just - well - changes channel?

.

P.S. I'm assumning you already nipped down argos today and bought £10 uni remote?

As Jethro says nipping to Argos and getting a One For All will be the best bet. I have one and nearly all the Philips TV modes will change the AV source but might need some tweaking for full functionality.

However, my Philips changes the AV source by pressing CH + or - and then pressing MENU. I suppose you've tried this but just in case.....

I wouldn't contact Philips about it at all. There are usually plenty of Philips remotes on ebay and if you want advice, you'll wait ages for the reply which will usually be wrong and then they'll use your email address for bombarding you with marketing rubbish.
