Austin was bloody brilliant - Craig undermarked him and so I have no problem with the 10 equalling things out.

Jodie was lovely but if Len was right about the lack of heel leads (and I couldn't see her feet but I have no reason not to believe him) then her score was fair.

NO bloody way did Cherie deserve to be bottom - are you seriously saying she was worse than Andrew - COME ON!! Ok, not her best effort and over-marked for the paso but seriously there were some good moments in it - get real here.

I hated Tom's routine but you can probably get that from my previous post - the fact it was rated the second best of the night is ridiculous - and I loved his AS and despite the faults his VW.

She did deserve to be below Heather and would have been if the judges had scored her the same way they did Heather's Salsa.

Rachel was overmarked as much as Jodie was undermarked. It is as if the judges are trying to keep Rachel in, technically she can dance, as can Jodie- but there is no personality while Jodie is so endearing

I agree, I thought Rachel's jive was not even technically that good this week and with the lack of personality, she couldn't even sell it.

imo Cherie deserved to be below Heather - she was well overmarked - but there was some technicality involved so she deserved to be above John and probably a mark or two above Andrew.

I agree. I just cannot warm to Rachel at all. She is like a gormless plank of wood- no personality whatsoever.
Jodie on the other hand is warm, likeable and endearing.

I think Rachel could be a shock early exit at some point in the future.

I saw no good moments - there was no personality at all in that dance. I agree she was slightly better than Andrew technically, but at least Andrew attempted to inject some fun into his routine.

That'll be a bit of a kick in the teeth for her with her going to stage school and everything... so I don't that will happen.

She didn't got to stage school- thats an urban myth.

But she did have years of dance training with s club 7.

Well if she did go to stage school it obviously hasn't worked on her. I just find her dancing flat and wooden. No wow factor about her

Oooh my mistake.

I know. I think there is something so private about Rachel and she is reluctant to let it out. I admire that about her but to go on SCD and be popular you have to show yourself.

I thought that austin was undermarked- no way was that an eight!!!
Jodie and ian deserved much higher marks
Tom and Camilla were overmarked
I thought the others were generally around about right

Personality is a matter of opinion but believe me technically Rachel is streets ahead of Jodie. Given her previous experience it's hardly surprising but, however charming you find Jodie's performance, it is ridiculous to suggest that she is technically even near the standard of Rachel.

Austin - Overall about right - best of night shouldn't have had a 10.

Lisa - Overmarked. Should have been about 7's accross the board. Just didn't get it.

Tom - About right I think. His face was off putting.

Rachel - Overmarked. I thought it was dull after about 25 seconds.

Jodie - Massively undermarked. She should have got at least 9's. Her feet may have had some technical errors but I couldn't see these.

Christine - Overmarked. THOSE FEET :O

Cherie - Overmarked. Had John/Heather done this routine they would have received less than 20.

Heather - Undermarked.

Andrew - About right. It was awkward.

John - Undermarked. Was as good as Cherie. Good rhythmically but not technically challenging.

In the context of the marks tonight they definitely weren't over marked! I think they should have been higher the leaderboard.

But Rachel never delivers the goods- O.K technically she is better dancer than Jodie- but is not enough to justify her getting higher marks when she can't sell the performance. You have to be good technically and sell it.
I'd have marked Rachel 7s = 28- the judges cannot go on marking her high to keep her in the competition and away from the dance off- which is what I think they are trying to do

Austin - undermarked for me, I didn't spot any mistakes
Heather - only slightly undermarked, I love her and Brian but it didn't quite work tonight
Lisa- about right
Tom - severely overmarked for me. I don''t care how great his lines were, that was NOT a Paso!
Cherie - No Way did she deserve more than Heather! so overmarked.
John - undermarked, they were way to harsh!
Andrew - overmarked, this was awful, cringeworthy etc
Rachel - undermarked - should have had 7's across the board
Jodie - most undermarked of the night
Christine - about right

Erm hello, they did exactly the same with Tom and Cherie tonight! Alright Cherie still ended up 4th bottom, but she didn't deserve those scores!

The pattern is consistent. Lisa, Tom, Austin and Cherie attract marks like flies for either bad acting or not much diffculty and are underpenalised even when bad. Rachel and Jodie are undermarked on preconceptions that they are respectively dull ( ie not acting badly) or clumsy . Len had decided that running order in an interview before the series started and his marks go that way regardless. Its heading for a truly dull final where people consistently worthy of an 8 from week one are presented as 10s.

I totally agree with Cherie- she was overmarked and might be in the dance off tonight

I disagree. I have no problem with the public voting for dancers on whatever basis suits, including how they feel the performance is 'sold' (packaged might be the better word). But the judges should mark on the dancing and to say the better dancer doesn't deserve better marks from a dancing judge seems ridiculous to me. There was very little dance content in Jodie's performance. It was beautifully choreographed by Ian with a story designed to hook the public vote and in which (like Matthew with Christine) the pro did most of the work. It was marked perfectly fairly as a dance by the judges; if the public like it they are at liberty to vote for it - I'm sure they will.
