Doddery he was not.
Hmm, apart from calling Matthew Ian? Maybe the OP in a separate thread has a point in suggesting Bruce is homophobic, as in, 'These gay blond dancers all look the same to me.' Last edited by lougarry : 02-11-2008 at 18:30. Reason: typo |

to be honest I thought some of his "jokes" tonight were a bit off...I think his comments before they dance can be almost as unsensitive as brand/ross
we were both thinking "Bruciegate" when he cracked his fattist comment about John ![]() |

Seems it was just a blip...the cringe made a comeback in part 2.

I don't know how late at night they film some of the results show but he obviously and understandably gets tired. I thought the Arlene joke was very fun. Didn't understand what he was getting at with Craig and Bruno - I know that they're both gay but even so, I don't get the joke. |

I love Brucie and really couldn't imagine anyone else presenting Strictly. I don't care what other people say about him, he always makes me smile and I think SCD would go cold if he left.

Sorry guys, but I didn't think he was funny. At one point my partner commented on how cringey it was and I did say "give him a break, he doesn't write it" and the reposte was "and the way he's peering at the autocue, he can barely read it".
He was great at what he did, no question. I admire him for his abilities in times past. But he's an elderly and much venerated man. Perhaps time to go out with dignity?

I would be sorry to see him go and I hope he does the show for at least another season after this - in defiance of the age fascists. |

I doubt it! What's wrong with calling Ian and Matt gay blonde dancers? They are! |

I thought Bruce was on form tonight. Doddery he was not. Inevitable at his age that he will have some better times than others, tonight was an exceptionally good one. I noticed it right from the start.
