She was surprisingly great tonight, i wasnt expecting much to be honest being disco week, but she did really well!

i was not keen on the choreography with the skaters, but that is brian friedmans fault not dianas.

she managed the song well and was very distinctive, this has shown just how adaptable she can be 8/10 from me and i've voted for her.

think she will be safe this week, what do you think?

Ps: I love that the way she sat too, quite provocative for "call me.."

Hated every second of it.

Diabolically affected voice made worse by the echo/reverb thing that was added to accentuated her skip/yodelling.

Since when was Call Me by Blondie a disco track.

Once again the rules were bent to accommodate substandard Diana.

Since it was first created in 1980 by disco producer Giorgio Moroder and played in just about every disco in the world at the time.

... maybe they didn't realise it was actually Gregorian Chanting?

"Adorable Diana" is what I hate about her. She knows people found her cute and her every word and motion just screams "LOOK AT ME! I'M CUTE! AREN'T I SO ADORABLE??? LOVE ME! I'M A LITTLE PRINCESS!"

That aside, I was quite impressed that she attempted to sing this week (and I mean that). It's a refreshing change.

I don't find her adorable. I do love the style of her voice though. She did a great job tonight.

I think disco is considered an era rather than a genre and Call Me by Blondie therefore fits into the era that the show had in mind. It isn't as if the rules aren't ever bent for anyone else though anyway, last series Same Difference sang S Club 7's "Reach" in big band week?!

Actually, the rules were bent for Austin aswell, his song was hardly disco.

I agree....Her personality grates on me more than her yodelling. I wish she would drop the cute act!

I'm not getting into an argument about this but when I was buying Blondie albums in the very early eighties I was very much under the impression that the were a New York post punk New Wave band.

My idea of classic disco would be Donna Summer, Sylvester, Sister Sledge, Patrick Hernandez etc etc

I'd also point out the Smile isn't a Big Band track either (written in the early 30s by Charlie Chaplain).

But hey ho, Diana fans are blinkered to these sort of facts

S Club 7 aren't big band yet Same Difference did that last year. There are obviously big band versions of those songs.... they wouldn't be allowed to sing it otherwise! Can you imagine Simon Cowell letting Diana sing something that isn't big band in big band week? No, he wouldn't have any of it. Therefore, Smile is obviously fine, and Call Me is obviously fine for Disco.

Hang on- so Simon Cowell now defines musical genres?! Is this DigitalSpy or Star Story?!

I'm surprised a young girl is so petrified to stand on her feet and bust a few moves. She did at least wear shoes I think tonight?

You know you've lost an argument when 'whatever' rears it's ugly head.

If you're going to criticise the lack of disco in tonights show, and by that I mean the narrow definition of disco that places it in New York during the 70's, then you have to criticise all but three of tonights performers.

Good point ... in as much as tonight was supposed to promote a very specific genre, it was a poor show on the whole.

... I wanted Louie singing "Staying Alive"
