Bloody cat.

I've got three cats. One is about 2 years, one is about a year and one is 10 weeks. They're all litter trained, and mostly don't mess anywhere apart from in the bath occasionally.

I woke up last night to find my middle one, Hugo, having a poo on the floor at the bottom of my bed, then noticed he'd shat all over my feet and quilt too. It was really disgusting. I cleaned it up and kicked him out of the room.

I've just woken up, and was having a fag at my computer desk and I look round and he was having a shit at the side of the bed AGAIN!!

It's so annoying. His litter tray is clean, he has access to it so why on earth would he have taken to having a shite in my room? How can I stop it?

Sounds like he's marking you and your bed as his territory probably because of the newcomer Radioamerica. I had the same problem with one of mine peeing on me while I was in bed while glaring daggers at his brother. Keep your fingers crossed he doesn't start on the settee's next (anything that smells of you basically) and don't let him in the bedroom is all I can suggest

Maybe he doesn't like the litter you're using? Try using a really fine-grained one as it's softer on their paws when they're standing in the tray. Can I ask what type you're currently using?

(Clean up the areas he's pooed with biological detergent to kill the scent too.)

We had our She cat Treacle first, then the Tom, Custard a few days later. One of them pooped behind the chair in the living room, I wasn't sure which one, but I believe one of them was marking the area.

They're fine now and both use the trays. The only jealousy that exists if we're fussing the one cat without the other then it turns into a 'slapping of paws' session between the two of them and then a wrestling match!

We had a similar problem with our cat, pooing in his own bed, on our duvet, the sofa, etc. Problem was, that he had been fussed over a lot from when we got him as a kitten, and then when he didn't get the attention he wanted (like at one point we were reading the papers in bed), he would poo in protest. Although it just got him negative attention, it was still attention.
He did grow out of it eventually....

A bigger litter tray might help. Why not try having one upstairs?

My Impossible Princess always goes out in the garden. More hygienic!

I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to complaining about cats using their garden as a toilet!

Well I for one am fed up with my garden being used as a cats toilet! Hold on its my cat!

Just a small tip, scrub the carpet with a biological soap powder, it really helps to get the smell out (the ones the cat can still smell and you can't) and this will stop them from using that area.
