Camcorder on a 150ish budget
thumbandit

Preferably to buy offline or order and collect in store (unless its a really great deal)

Budget is around the 150 mark, this is just for family shooting nothing professional or anything obviously for this price mark.

No mini dv as i dont have a dvd recorder or a vhs, any other format will be fine (pros and cons from an expert would be nice)

If its a little more than the budget thats fine ..... HD isnt an option as im ugly enough in sd .... unless they have come down to the £250 price bracket then i may stretch

So in short ....

I need a point and shoot camera that isnt mini dv do you have any reccomendations

Thanks

What do you think about the Hitachi DZHS300E? The only thing is you have to buy it online for £146.66 but the recording format is Hard Drive/ DVD.
Maybe you will read a few reviews on it and make up your own mind about it.
Hope it helps!

Something different. I just bought the Kodak Zi6. I love it.

£120
HD (720p video)
Small enough to fit in your pocket
Point and shoot
SD/SDHC
Pop out USB connector (like the Flip)

I bought a 16GB card from Amazon for £20 and its enough for over 5 hours of HD video.

Records straight to H264 mpeg4 so its a drag and drop affair once you've connected it via USB.

Works with 2 AA batteries and comes with a couple with a charger. I prefer this as if you are going away you can pick up AA batteries from anywhere so no need to worry about finding a socket to charge up a lithium-ion battery.

Colour me impressed.
