(a) I don't drink Lattes

(b) I don't read the Guardian

(c) I don't vote for John out of pity.

(d) I see Strictly as an entertainment programme, not a serious dance contest where everyone should be of equal starting ability. The BBC commissioned such a show in the form of Come Dancing and it was scrapped.

This is a public forum, and "whinging" (i.e. stating an opinion that someone else doesn't agree with) is the name of the game here. There's no need to be rude.

Yeah all of them!
That always pretend I'm injured rugby ego on legs tops the list.
Closely followed by Mr Bean from Holby who likes threesomes. I preferred Don to either of them.
The women this year are either total bland, uptight or give that annoying simpering little girl act. Only one who has an engaging manner is Heather.
This is not, repeat not, a dance competition it's a reality tv show where people "pays their money" and makes their choice.
John is great entertainment value that Paso last week was absolutely side stitching especially where he dragged Christina across the floor. If he wins it who cares least the two of them have brightened up the dark days and nights.

If he wishes to lose more weight then let him join a gym.

It is supposed to be a dance contest, according to Len, who is the head judge, so he should know.”

He was only joking. They are supposed to ask the public for votes - what can John say - "Please keep me in because I am a fabulous dancer"?

Remarks like that are not supposed to be taken seriously. If people vote for John because they like him there is nothing anyone else can do about it.

It didn't make me laugh as much as his referring to their sexual chemistry the other week

John should pray his plea works though - the first time he's in the dance-off, he's a gonner.

I think John is lovely person, but I've seen enough of him stomping around the floor now; he can't dance, don't think he ever will (& it's nothing to do with age, I've seen plenty of couples lot older than he is, dancing really well) and he has now become boring.

Do love Kristina though, in the pro dances she is like a breath of fresh air.

Ditto for you. Stop whinging about posts you don't agree with.
Sergeant is a terrible dancer and it's the "emperor's new clothes" syndrome that's keeping him in. Some people are multi posting to keep him in.

Personally, I like to see the surprise and then joy on Kristina & John's faces when they are called safe. You can see Kristina steeling herself each week as she prepares to be in the bottom two. So shoot me .... it makes me smile.

I'm a latte drinking Guardian reader and I don't vote for John.

In order to conform to your generalisation, perhaps I should.

I do understand that but the flipside of that is the hurt and incomprehension on the faces of those people in the dance off who keep doing much much better than John but don't get voted through

At the end of John's dance I was smiling. Jodies dance was the only other to do that to me on Saturday.

A very good reason to vote, in my opinion.

John's excuse next week will be to "fart all the way through next weeks routine so keep me in".

Kenny Logan was funny. John is as funny as a sack of spuds.

That's the whole point surely nobody seriously thinks this is a dancing competition. It's a ragbag of motley celebrities who make up a bit of light entertainment on Saturday night. Somebody would have to be naive to say the least to think that the clowns judging it are professional. Oh and that wailing wench that does the singing would get booed at a drunken karaoke.

Hurt? ... yes, undoubtedly. Incomprehension? ... I don't think so.

They all know that the public does wacky things and that they can't assume because the judges put someone at the bottom, then so will the GBP.

John has been good value from an entertainment pov but I really hope he's in the bottom 2 within the next couple of weeks so we can bid him a fond farewell.

If he's still being saved from the dance off 3 weeks from now we are going to start seeing real contenders being sacrificed. When it comes to the final weeks I don't want to see parody but real dancing.

I agree. Both couples just fill the floor/tv screen with the fun and enjoyment that can be had through dance.

You can be the best dancer in the world but it's not enough, especially on a tv 'entertaiment' show.

John's dancing is crap - but I could watch Kristina dance all day and all night frankly, so not really bothered he's staying in!

I feel the same about Brian, although I suspect one of these two coooples will go next

There's always one celebrity who is kept in for a few weeks, almost BECAUSE they dance so badly. John has been entertaining, and Kristina is great, I ove her choreography for him, it does so suit his personality. However, I do think that it's time for him to go now, even those who are expected to be in the bottom two have more potential than John. It is, after all, a dance competition, not CBB where we would be voting on personality.

To all the people who say they love John's cuddly nature, etc etc, blah blah blah I say this.
Imagine you were in a club/at a dance/ etc and you didn't know who John was. You see him dancing and then he come along and asks you for a dance (ladies only).
Would you accept the invitation??

Why moan about something you have no control over? He seems like a genuinely nice bloke who may be aging a bit and isn't as good as the other dancers. I have always thought that he puts in as much effort as the other dancers, so saying he has no right to be on the show is rubbish because if he puts in the effort he deserves to be in as much as everyone else. He won't win it, he probably will be out by the end of November, and so leave him alone. And did you never think he might be staying in because of his partner- she would get the vote from blokes and she's clearly a great dancer and choreographer.

So according to your theory, only contestants that would attract your attention in a club or bar should be allowed on Strictly!?

Isn't that a bit shallow

I think their partnership is great and I have no problem with him still being in the competition. Kristina has done a fantastic job with John. He is genuine and IMO is the only one in the competition (apart from possibly Cherie/Jodie) who is actually enjoying it for the sake of the dance and is not trying to resurrect a singing/modelling/acting career. I agree, I'm fed up of hearing "this has been a great journey and I don't want it to end" . Why not do it to lose weight
He knows he probably has one more week left.

John is not nearly as rubbish as Andrew, Gillian, Jessie, Gary or Mark were.

Don't think we saw enough of Phil to judge and I'm not convinced Don was worse than the big JS - but to be honest, John hasn't outstayed his welcome by that many weeks in terms of talent.

Of course, in terms of personality then he could pick just about everybody bar Austin off and reach the final with ease!

Easy, Yes!

OTOH if any of the other men who have so far been eliminated (with the exception of Don) appeared to be heading in my direction, I'd beat a hasty retreat to the Ladies.
