Of course, in terms of personality then he could pick just about everybody bar Austin off and reach the final with ease!”

John is worse than Andrew, Mark, and the some of the others, at least they tried to the dance and not rely on their partners, had much better frames.
John didn't do a step right in the foxtrot his posture was awful and he was walking the steps.
Better dances have gone out over John but that is strictly

I disagree.

Mark and Andrew were not particualry inspiring. I'd rather have seen them perform simple but effective routines like John.

He's lucky he's had Kristina by his side to choreograph dances that suit him - together they have charmed the pants of many of us and have earnt their right to remain in the competition.

I'm not saying that at all.
The point I was making is that some people are saying that they are keeping John in by voting for him, not because of his dancing, but because of his cuddliness etc ( one person said how lovely he was).
I was saying that if he was an unknown, a stranger to them, and they met him in the club/dance situation would they think the same?

Really?

Most the posts I've read in favour of John have referred to his entertaining routines. Being 'cuddly' just adds to his charm.

This might be an unpopular view, but to succeed on Strictly, you need to be a decent mover and have an endearing personality.

It's no good being able to complete complex dance manouvers if you can't move the audience with your performances.

Gabby Logan is a case in point. Her dancing was very clinical and left me cold. She simply didn't motivate people to pick up the phone and save her. She therefore deserved to go, even if it was at the expense of less accomplished, but more memorable dancers like Kate. Same logic applies to John.

None of the contestants are unknown to us – because they are celebrates. Each couple on SCD gets an opportunity to present themselves to us, through the training footage and interviews. I understand that not everyone likes John and Kristina and it must be frustrating for them that many other people do (based on the fact that he is still in the competition). However, this is not a proper dancing competition – otherwise there would be no public vote and the winner would be decided by the judges alone. This is an entertainment show – and those that “entertain” the public tend to stay in over those that don’t!

What's that got to do with it - it's not Strictly Come Clubbing - why should only people who pass the clubbing test be allowed to stay.

I'm sorry but I don't agree that John is worse than Andrew or Mark. They were pretty terrible, and they might have tried to dance but it didn't pay off. John is doing well for his capability and okay, he shouldn't get much further probably, but it's silly to get annoyed about it. He at least has a personality, unlike boring people like Cherie and Tom. I know it's a dance contest, but unfortunately the dance element on its own doesn't make for as interesting viewing as does people who are a little bit fun. Like Alesha was (it helped that she was a great dancer, but she was good to watch, too).

John is funny and intelligent and to whoever started this thread - it was a joke, dude! He was joking. He's quite dry in his sense of humour so maybe if you need a more obvious line you didn't get it.

Let's see what he comes out with this week to get the sympathy vote. He'll have the blue rinsers sobbing into their
knitting.

He'll probably tell us he lost 1 pound and a half - so now he needs the chance to lose another 8 oz.

I've yet to hear John try to generate sympathy.

Voters don't pity him, they admire him
