I have just gotten myself an iPhone (via Ebay) and have been playing alot with it recently esp surfing the internet whilst out and about; using MSN, Facebook and standard sites.

This has been using data charges which have been capped at £1 per day.

I note that their is a Bolt On of £7.5 for internet browsing.

Will this be the same thng that I need?

I thought the data plan for the iphone was unlimited for £10 per month???
Have you got an "iphone sim"?

Obviously dont get the £7.50 one if you can get unlimited for extra £2.50!!

The £7.50 Web unlimited bolt on is for PAYG. Officially it's capped at 200mb but I was only warned when I went over 450mb, and would have been charged extra had I gone over 500mb.

Mine is a pay monthly contract so would like to add somehting on to it hence why thought off the Bolt On!?!?

I note that online you can see your usage; is this in MBs under the bill?

I can't see billing on PAYG, so don't know.

The contract bolt on is unlimited so I'd go for it. It's definitely worth doing.

Thats right. So whatever your bill says just divide it by 1024 and that will give you the amount in MB.

o2 offers this bolt on for free on certain tarrifs (£35 and above I think) although I have just switched to a simplicity tarrif while I wait for new phones to arrive and they carried to freebie across - I am only paying £20 ish

Mines a £35 a month contract but I still have to pay for the bolt on. I think its because I picked the unlimited txts free instead. As in you can pick one bolt on free but if you text a lot and use the net you dont get as many txts in the paid bolt on as you do having it unlimited and then paying for the browsing bolt on.

Thats the way it worked out better for me when I upgraded mine at the beginning of the year.

Ive also gone over the 200meg cap and not been charged. Apparently if you go way over for three months in a row then they will send you a txt warning you you may get charged, and then if you do it for a further month they will charge you but its never happened to me yet.

Officially speaking the Web Bolt On is unlimited providing that it is used for phone internet only, if so then O2 have said they are unlikely to chase you up if you use it extensively. As long as streaming isn't involved then all should be ok. I hit 800mb one month and they didn't say bugger all. Just keep using it, O2 removed the 200mb restriction when they changed the terms to bolt ons earlier this year.

Just called O2 up and they changed my unlimited 02 to 02 to unlimited data.

So getting it for free. Not worried about the 02 calls as got enough minutes for that
