I'm bored with people getting all sanctmonious and even going as far as to accuse others of being racist because we call Eoghan eggnog.

I for one think it's a play on words and naff all to do with his nationality. Having said that, as he seems to be the only one with a nickname, let's think up some for the remaining contestants

No rude words please, and try to keep them in the spirit of Eggnog, rather than being offensive

I see the play on words thing but I think its a bit disrespectful, just because his name is spelt in an usual way. All fun though I suppose, hopefully Eoghan won't be offended if he sees it.

Well maybe we should change it to 'Eogh no he's started to sing again'. That to me is more disrespectful than Eggnog as it is a personal slur against his singing.

I didn't really want to start another thread on the pro's and con's of the nickname Eggnog.

How about JCB for JLS - no relevance to anything, but a play on letters again

Eggnog is a bit mean to call him that, IMO.

With suggestions for nicknames, as the original message asked!

You didn't ask for suggestions... you just said "no rude words please". I was simply expressing a possible reason for people being offended, which you should have expected to be honest.

I'd go back and re-read it, it clearly says "let's think up some for the remaining contestants"

LOL sorry I clearly missed it 3 times, I'm tired! Lol well sorry if you didn't like my reply but I was only expressing my opinion and I didn't say anything offensive so I thought your reply was a bit harsh - telling me that you didn't want a thread full of pros and cons?

Anyway not to worry, I'll sum up by saying I'd be peed off if people deliberately spelt my name wrong or gave me a stupid nickname just because of the spelling of my name.

Can I suggest names for 2 of last year's contestants? OK, here goes.

Rhydian - The Rhydmeister (He of course was also known as The Rhydler)
Same Difference - The Cheesemeisters.

I've also seen Leon referred to as Wee Scone.
