Because I'm sad and interested in how those in the competition might progress I worked out which dances everyone has yet to do so here goes:
Austin as we know has the rhumba next Saturday - a dance he is not looking forward to and with good reason that apart from Colin Jackson how IMO was the most capable male celeb the show's ever seen very few male celebs do well at it - the only one who I remember getting a score over 30 was Matt last year (although despite a lot of flack I think Gethin did ok too).
His remaining dances after that are:
ballroom - foxtrot, tango and american smooth
latin - cha cha cha, salsa and paso double
He might have some problems with the serious acting side of the tango and paso and the salsa demands arm work which isn't his forte which are his feet and his frame but he ought to have no problems with the rest although seeing how Austin and Erin tackle the problem of him lifting someone barely taller than himself will be interesting although if Vincent can lift Erin - it should be dooable for Austin to do so.
Tom has the quickstep as we know which he should at least do a decent job of - as an Austin fan I'm a bit scared he'll actually outdo Austin actually - but the spectacle should be a good watch.
After that he has:
ballroom - waltz, foxtrot or tango
latin - salsa, rhumba and samba
I think he'll do fine with all of those except having seen his paso face I'm not sure how bad his tango face is going to be and I think the rhumba is a tricky dance for most especially the males - he'll find it easier than Austin though.
Cherie is bang in the comfort zone with the waltz which ought to be good after that things get trickier - she's got
ballroom - tango, quickstep and vienesse waltz
latin - cha cha cha, jive and samba
All of the latin dances and possibly the quickstep due to the speed might give her severe problems and she's unlikely to get the vw for a few weeks after the normal waltz. The tango could go either way but she'll probably have no problems with.
Lisa will be doing a ballroom as she's got four of them as opposed to three latin. She's yet to do
ballroom - waltz, foxtrot, quickstep or vienesse waltz - depending on how keen they are to have everyone do a different dance then is dependent on what she gets but if you want everyone doing different things again it's going to be the foxtrot or v.w. I don't see anything bar the quickstep (she can be a little shaky on her feet sometimes) giving her any problems.
After that her latin dances are - cha cha cha, jive and samba - it'll be interesting to see her re-visit fast latin after the first week's not brilliant salsa - that said it was reckoned be techincally ok but lacked drive and she seems a lot more confident now - the jive might give her problems though - caveat about feet see above.
Rachel is also in the ballroom for similar reasons - her options are - waltz, foxtrot, tango or american smooth - she'll probably be fine at all of those although el passione for the tango might prove elusive but it'll be a ok effort at worst.
her remaining latin dances are - cha cha cha, rhumba and paso double
again I don't see her doing an earth scattering paso but the rest will be good - Vincent said early she wants a go at the rhumba and since it's a softer dance than the others it might really suit her - at least she won't be in Louisa's shadow for that one either.
Jodie has to do a fast latin this week so it'll be a real acid for her - it's one of cha cha cha, salsa, jive and samba - the jive of course is the tall girl's nemesis so that could go really horribly wrong for her as it did for Penny it's never been a dance that's suited any of Ian's partners
the ballroom she's yet to do is more promising - tango, quickstep and vienesse waltz - I'll particularly looking forward to her tango as she nailed the attitude and rigidity with the paso and seems a lot happier in hold - the quickstep could prove trickier due to the speed but Penny's was good so I think it could be good, her waltz bodes well for the vienesse version although she'll need to work on footwork.
Christine also has latin - cha cha cha, salsa, jive or rhumba - if duplication is avoided then it's going to be fast - considering how well she took to the samba I think she'll do at least ok with the salsa - however her footwork isn't reckoned to be great so she'll might struggle with the jive or possibly the ccc.
her ballroom then becomes the two waltzes and the tango - she should if she sorts out the footwork be fine with the waltzes but her lack of success with the passionate paso doesn't bode well for her tango - she doesn't seem to do arrogant, sultry and moody well and if her floppy paso is anything to do by is going to find stacato a problem.
Heather is back in the ballroom with either a waltz, foxtrot, tango and american smooth. She's so interesting as you geuninely have no idea what you're going to get with her - just as you think from her salsa and quickstep that latin's her thing she does two not so good latin separated by a pretty good effort at ballroom. The tango which doesn't require her to relax might be a good option but she's not the most precise which might be a flaw for anything. I geuninely have no idea what to expect from her though - so she could be a real surprise.
her latin dance remaining are the jive, rhumba and paso double - I'm not sure she's got the precision that'll make a jive work and that combined with her nerves stopping her giving a lot of her latin omph might do for her (as Matt DA said last year if you do it half-heartedly are going to look ridiculous) but the other two might be good for her or might not - with her you just can't tell.
John could well find his luck runs out this week as he's got a fast latin - cha cha cha, salsa, jive or rhumba - I can see him winging a c.c.c if he can get on top of it or at least doing enough a job to be assuming enough to get voted back in but the others will be diasters.
his remaining ballroom dances all look like pitfalls too - quickstep, american smooth and vienesse waltz - he might if gets the footwork sorted be able to do a decent v.w but I don't see the speed of the q.s or the lifts in the a.s being something he can really work with.
To surmise - this week - we have Lisa, Rachel and Heather joining Tom and Cherie in the ballroom and Jodie, Christine and John joining Austin in the latin. It should be interesting.
