Think you're right about Christine though - I can't see her coping with something that requires so much speed and verve. She might be smiley but she's not bouncy.

I've just read on the Beeb forums that Lisa is supposed to being to be doing the Samba... which is her 4th latin in 6 dances but if so that leaves Jodie with the Salsa maybe???? Still think John maybe given the ChaCha, but looking forward to finding out!

So if Lisa is dancing the Samba, Jodie is left with either the Salsa or the Jive!

Christine was the stand out performer in the group swing IMO.
I think she might surprise a few people in the Jive.

River Man, you keep on preempting me! I was just going to say that I think that Christine may handle the bounce of the jive quite well after her performance in the swing. She also has two advantages: a) she can relax her top line a bit (but just a bit ) and concentrate on her footwork and b) she has Matthew as a partner. He tends to choreograph very good jives, unlike Ian who has a bad habit of over-facing his partners in the jive.

Of all the women left to jive, I think Christine and Lisa probably stand the best chance of tackling it successfully. Heather and Cherie are both, on previous form, too flat-footed at that speed, and Jodie has the problem of her limb length to face, I'm afraid.

Heather and Brian have just confirmed on ITT that they shall be dancing a Tango this week .

I've heard John is doing Cha Cha, not sure if it's reliable or not though.

I loved Penny's Samba, and I would have certainly voted for Penny rather than Gabby!

I think samba would suit Jodie the most out of all the faster latin dances so it might be a good one for her. Penny and Zoe managed to do good sambas and they were tall.

The Charleston and Lindy Hop have only been used on Strictly Dance Fever, haven't they?

Of the ones we know, everyone except Austin has a dance that plays to their strengths. Obviously if John and Jodie have fast Latin dances then that will no longer be true.

I reckon it should be cha cha for John, samba for Jodie and Viennese for Lisa.

Interesting so far. Superficially neither Austin nor Christine have dances which suit them, but then you can never tell. If Austin pulls off the Rumba I'll be really impressed.

Tom has the right personality for the quickstep but will have to be careful about his footwork for the quickstep (following Len's comments on his last ballroom).

Cherie has a dance that suits her. Rachel should be ok. Heather has the opportunity to make an impact with the tango.

Have I heard John say he's doing Cha cha, or have I dreamt that? It might have been during the results show.
