unless you have a massive music collection that you want to carry around with you, i say go with the touch for the internet browsing and mail etc on the nice screen.

I vote Touch. Unless you need to transport masses of data and are wanting a portable hard drive, the touch has more than enough space and far more features to fiddle with

We have a 32GB touch and a 80GB video, the touch is always picked up first and it's a great bit of kit.

I've got 2G touch and love it, best £289 I've spent this year. If you want a device than can do so much more than music, then definitely buy the touch.

Another vote for the Touch. There is no reason to carry your whole music library around with you to be honest.

Look around for prices though!
I got a basically unused 16GB iPod Touch for £155. The best £155 i've ever spent - plus all the extra i have spent on iTunes

iPod Touch is the best device ever! even better when its jailbroken - I can now download/save videos from youtube into a videos folder without needing a computer or converting, I can stream live TV with VLC 4 iPhone and scrobble all the songs I listen too directly to my last.fm account
then of course you have the standard functions, Music, Video, Internet, YouTube, iPlayer. it really is like having a mini computer with you. When I go to college however, I tend to bring the USB cable along with me as the battery does drain a bit when you use the internet or frequently watch videos, especially through YouTube. I'm doing ICT courses so its pretty easy for me to just stick it in and let it charge. =) |

Hi - i bought a 32gb touch last week from comet. The price was £289 but with that you get a £15 itunes voucher and a bluetooth gear4 portable speaker system with retails at comet for £50 (£40 on amazon). My plan is to sell the speakers on ebay and recoup maybe £30. . .all in all not a bad deal.

I recommend the iPod Touch ..it is so cool with the wi-fi, touch screen, artwork interface, snazzy apps.
I just bought one and love it already ...got it for £245 in Dixons tax free so if you are going thro' an airport thats a hard price to beat. ( you can buy from Dixons tax free on Domestic routes, I was coming back from Belfast...I had resisted the iPod that morning in the Apple store at £289 but couldn't resist at £245 |

Ipod Touch 16gb with software update - Only £149 at Argos
I know I am normally an anti apple person, but I really do like the look of the Touch & at this discounted price, I am very very tempted
.All I gotta findout now is if I can transfer all my mp3 files from my PC that haven't got the evil DRM & without the need to create an itunes account. |

Be aware that that price is for the 1st Gen Touch, not the 2nd Gen one...they still want £219 for that!

![]() I prefer the 1st gens louder volume, can be jailbroken whereas the 2nd gens are not able to be.Practically the same device.. £145 for the 1st gen or £180 for the 2nd Gen just for an added speaker? Who's going to tell if you have the new editions anyway, they look exactly the same

i wouldn't bother if i were you. you can't download apps from the store without an account. i'm sure something else would suit you better.
If I have to open an account for applications then no worries, but as long as I can transfer my existing mp3 & movie files which I have ripped from my discs / converted or purchased from rival companies then I will be happy .I have read of some software that is out that will allow me to transfer all my mp3 files without problem
