And who else is in the studio? None other than Arlene's favourite, David Tennant ...

The boy better watch out ...

Talking points:

Andrew's elimination not much of a shock.

Brief mention of height difference with Ola [whyever were they put together?]

Arlene says the particular dance a couple gets effects their chances and Andrew might have survived if he'd had a ballroom dance ths week - foxtrot.

Arlene says all the celebs fall into 2 groups: those who can abandon themselves to the dance, and those who continue to struggle with the details.

Talk about Heather Small, now saved 3 times. Arlene says Heather needs to start getting some "attack". ["Attack" is a really good word; it's what Rachel is missing too, IMO]

Talk about JS; Arlene twice brings up the name of Chris Parker; hopes it won't come to that.

Arlene says Jodie Kidd stands out in terms of progression, but will she be able to get down and dirty.

Talk of Britannia High (a dance/soap series running on ITV and choreographed by Arlene). Arlene says the themes are more gritty than some other dance films. Compares Strictly (which is about dancing with a partner), with BH which is more about other dance styles such as hip hop and street.

Sian asks who, in Strictly, Arlene would like to have the opportunity to give some individual tuition: Arlene says she'd like to give Cherie "womanly tips" on Latin.

I'd like to know why Ola was put with Andrew. Surely Erin would have been a better choice and Ola wouldn't have had to lower her heels to dance with Austin. Erin has had plenty of opportunities (as has Camilla) in the past. It's time Ola got someone who could dance.

Just had a thought. I wonder if who the pros are partnered with has anything to do with where the training is mainly done. I know Erin has mentioned before about going to Leicester to train with Austin, and she also went to Denmark when she was dancing with Peter Schmichel (sp?). Matt Cutler went to Glasgow for most of Carol Smillie's training. Perhaps Ola has said that she wants to be London-based, or because she's married perhaps the production team think it only right that she's London-based, the same as James.

Maybe -- & I say this with tongue slightly in cheek -- whoever chooses 'who-dances-with-whom' tries to put the celebs they see as having the most potential with the best pro teachers?

LOL if Erin went to Denmark to train with Peter wouldn't Camilla had been a better choice location wise?

I think Andrew would have done better with Erin or Camilla as the height is better. But who to say Austin would have been anby good paired with Ola??

Ahhh, but they couldn't resist pairing Miss Whiplash with The Leciester Lip - expecting sparks/arguments to fly in training, hence Ola got Andrew, whereas, and I love Erin and Austin, favourite couple, Ola/Austin and Erin/Andrew actually makes more sense heightwise.

There's quite a few instances of 'oh we must put X with Y' without much actually regard to who would really make good partners - e.g. Brendan and Lisa, Lisa is slightly too tall for him, and would look better with Matthew, and Christine with Brendan, but Lisa is in the 'sexy' role this year, so has to get Brendan for the potential sexual chemistry, and you get the feeling that the pros/celebs left over were just thrown together without much thought.
