Well on Monday, the Corrie out of africa dvd is released, and i know lots of people are unsure on whether it's 'that or tat' or not. I personally think it's going to be really good and funny, as Cilla returns.

I just saw a behind the scenes/clips bit on this morning and it's made me want to get it even more, and is it has been confirmed it won't be on TV, the only way to see it is on DVD, so who's going to buy it and looking forward to it?

(try not to be too critical, as i hope this threads stays for fans of Cilla etc)

I have pre order mine from sendit, it looks good but i think it should be on tv like the bet one they did 9 years ago, so we did not have to buy the dvd.

Normally I would look forward to watching a Coronation St DVD but with such an awful cast - Fiz, Chesney, Kirk, Les and Cilla - I won't even waste my time

It's not Les Battersby apparently, but another fella with the same name

Don't count on it, In the past there has been some Corrie specials which they said would only be seen on Video/DVD but eventually they were shown on TV. Be it a few months later!

I wondered about that - Corrie sacked the actor who played Les B - why would they bring him back for a DVD ????

Looks like they're talking about South Africa, which is a country.

But they said Africa in the article, not south Africa. So what I said still stands.

The only time I see reference to a "country" in this article is when it's clearly just referred to "South Africa".

Is this the bit you mean?

Coronation Street has filmed a fantastic spin-off film in South Africa.

Get ready to see some of your favourite characters as you’ve never seen them before out in the wilds of this beautiful country.

Ah yeah

I only just realised that. But if you look at the title it says Africa, so when I saw the word country, I just thought "Africa's not a country".

I'm getting it, people seem to complain about anything these days. So what if ITV choose to show it later on next year (if that is the plan) isn't that the same as any movie/dvd? The views on teletext a week ago were crap!

TBH i don't care if people critizice it, it's not there for everyone to like is it really.

But i think it's great after a few years to do a new corrie dvd.

I hate it when they take the show out of Weatherfield, they are notoriously bad episodes. Sadly I have some on video such as the QE2 episode and Las vegas.

All pretty dire.
