How many very successful celebrities would take the time to do this for their fans?

Gary Barlow is all heart.

Big deal. No skin off his nose to take a chauffeur driven limo to wherever he wants to go.
Good publicity as well.

Now all he needs to do is pay that tax.......

It was also so thoughtful of the media to publicise it such an extent. I wonder if someone's people let them know about it.

1. Gary's not copying anyone - a little bit of research would cure some people's ignorance. Gary did this long before Ed or any other newbie started being famous.

2. One of the conditions Gary always puts in order to attend any event is for the press NOT to be there. The only existent footage is the one taken by fans or people attending the events and it's the media contacting them afterwards via their youtube channels, asking for permission to use the recordings for their articles. So, again, when ignorant, it's better to keep quiet.

3. Maybe Gary has a driver that can take him anywhere, but I don't know that many celebs who, after 3 consecutive gig nights, gets out of the concert tired and heads straight to a fan's wedding instead of crashing in a bed.

And finally:
4. Give it a break with the taxes. The story is old and the money was paid a long time ago. https://nz.entertainment.yahoo.com/m...rs-up-to-date/
Besides, don't forget that none of you pay in a lifetime what he pays per year, so let's not go there.

Neither he, Mark or Howard have paid anything back.

Yet almost a year after everyone involved was ordered to do the same, the payment from Gary Barlow and Take That bandmates Howard Donald and Mark Owen is still outstanding to the tune of up to 20million.

Shame he didn't do things like this before being outed as being extremely tax efficient.

That's not physically possible. There is no mechanism to pay more tax than you are due. They didn't evade tax (which would leave them still liable and open to prosecution/prison), they avoided it by exploiting clever loopholes that were perfectly legal. Just like Google, Amazon, Starbucks, Jimmy Carr and Global Radio (owners of Capital, Heart, Smooth, LBC, XFM, and more stations)

This means they have legally paid what was technically owed, and there is no way for the Inland Revenue to accept tax for previous years where they don't claim anything is owed, any more than you can buy a house for 100,000 today and then try to pay extra stamp duty in the future as though you had actually paid 1,000,000 (but didn't - without there being any illegal activity).

Sorry to be rude, but can you read?
Your article is dated April, 25, mine is April, 27 and is a rectification of the lies published a day before.
But, go ahead, by all means, believe what lies suit you better.

He actually did.

And, even if didn't, how would his appearances at fans' weddings change things? These people are already fans and those who wanna hate him will hate him no matter what, as proven by this very thread.

'Sorry to be rude'. If you're going to apologise, don't be rude in the first place.

Despite being published the day before the Mirror piece the article you quote takes another quote from The Sun, and cites 'a source'. Yes, we all believe them don't we?

Naturally, a fan is going to stand up for them.

His only thoughts seem to be aimed at what he can do to get his knighthood.

"HMRC has confirmed that the band has paid back the 20million they owed to the taxman."

Considering how vile the press usually is towards Gary, I'm gonna assume they wouldn't have published a rectification unless it was true and they were being forced into doing it.
It's hard to imagine that "source" would have lied about an information that can be so easily checked. I can bet anything that, were it untrue, the press would have crucified Gary by now.

Besides, Nigel Martin Smith - a source with a name - had confirmed a couple of years ago that Gary had paid as soon as he had been informed that something was fishy. But, of course, the papers didn't find it convenient to publish that piece of information at that time.

Yes, I choose not to believe papers that put out their rubbish articles precisely when a group embarks on a new tour. Pretty convenient timing, don't you think?

Not as humble as his tax and national insurance contributions

I just found it mildly amusing the bride had the surname Morrissey. The thought of Barlow serenading Morrissey made me giggle
