My son and his wife have been in Norfolk this week and went on the little steam train from Sheringham to Holt........with Rick Wakeman on board!

My son said there was a BBC film crew there who he appeared to be with. He spoke to Rick Wakeman and said he was very friendly and nice and posed for a photo with my son.

Lenny Henry's daughter used to go to the same riding school as my daughter. Very quiet and unassuming, used to sit in the cafe with a drink while his daughter was in her lesson - no hint of playing the celeb card at all.”

Liz Hurley seems alright, she gets a lot of hate on here, even once replied to a message of hate on here

I met Lenny Henry last year and he was lovely - very down to earth and no pretentions.

I have the priviledge of working at a music festival every year and so far every single celeb i've met as been beyond ace.

Noel Gallagher - the nicest friendliest bloke ever and I was drunk and sounding like a stalker as a huge oasis fan but he was beyond ace and had a photo with him.

Bobby Gillespie - Hilarious extremely down to earth even got a lift with him and Alex Clare as we dropped them to a hotel had a right crack and took some of his band mates to a party.

Jake Bugg - bless him a real sweetheart

Chic - I met everyone apart from the legendary Nile Rogers and they were all dead sound I was eating curry with some of them.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers - met him before he got really famous at a night club i recognised him as I knew his brothers absolute sweetheart.

Peter Kaye - met him in HMV chatted and had a right crack with him and he remembered me from his gig from the night before as I had bright red hair lovely man.

Dizzie Rascal was ok but his entourage were the rudest idiots ever so tarnished my thoughts on him.

The Antlers an american band partied all night with them lovely lads.

Loads of DJ's and not got a bad word to say about any of them.

Has anyone met Prince? Everyone knows him for his weirdness and strange speeches at awards ceremony, but I did read in Vox magazine in 1990, that he was excellent to a group of fans who were lucky enough to have won seats on a tour bus during his Lovesexy tour in 1988 and was very kind to a disabled fan.

How about some of the rock legends from the seventies and eighties, anyone met members of Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple as I'm curious?

I read earlier in this thread where a poster praised them because they signed an item of his/hers.

I know Robert Plant could be arrogant at the height of his fame in the seventies, but since the end of Led Zeppelin he has become far more down to earth and was the chairman of his local football club and quite approachable.
Also from all accounts the late John Lord of Deep Purple was friendly enough with the fans and in later years was happy enough to play to a few hundred fans.

I think it was Popbitch or Holy Moly that a few years ago ran a slew of items about how awesome Robert Plant is these days. Things like how ordinary people had run into him and he'd held doors open or done this and that. It was a bit of a novelty homage at the time.

I met Ian Gillan in the 70's at Ipswich Speedway.
He was quiet, but friendly.

DJ Mike Read, very pleasant, happy to chat and has a real encyclopaedic knowledge of music.

Lewis Collins, a good laugh, and happy to chat.

He's 67 now so I suppose there's no point in acting like it's still 1973. Plant always struck me as not as strange as Jimmy Page, with his obsession with the occult, or as deranged as John Bonham, who could be obnoxious.

My mate was at the races yesterday and met Ant and Dec. He said Dec was an absolute legend - chatted away to everyone and posed for photos.

Ant, however, was an ignorant ****

I met Ed Stewart in Bournemouth 6 years ago, he was more surprised someone under 40 actually recognised him as his TV career ended in the seventies. Still a pleasant enough man and he was glad someone young recognised him.

I've found this too in the past. Was at the BGT auditions a few years ago when Ant & Dec were doing some outdoor links. On the way back in Dec stopped for about 20mins to get photos and autographs with folk while Ant just walked straight back in without a wave or look or anything.

We met up with him on the night of the show, and he got us backstage before it to meet him. He was so lovely. My mum said to him that he'd better be singing Bring Him Home as that's one of her favourites, and he looked at her completely seriously and said "I'm really sorry, I'm not doing that one tonight." I swear my mum was about to burst in to tears when he said "I'm only joking!" He even got my dad a pass to sit with the sound technicians as he didn't have a ticket.”

Very jealous of this, I love Alfie! Met him briefly after one of his concerts in Gateshead so it's lovely to hear he's as nice as he seems

Dear God I have read some things on forums over the years but that takes some beating. Do you really think that someone who lost a child of his own would do this? It is just someone's perverted way of trying to get the sympathy back to the Tory party after the Ralph Miliband episode. The Tory press really have no morals, and neither do you for posting such a vile slur.

Must admit, the rumour mill really did spin a bit out of control, there. Whatever GB might be like as a person, I cannot possibly conceive of him thinking that one up. In short, it didn't happen. For one, even some of the sleaziest in the world of spin would see the potential of that being a spectacular own goal.
