I still find it strange when you say that she made you cry, there must have been a reason for it. I have seen quite a few loud, spoiled, precocious brats that can't bear the fact that they are not the centre of attention.

(I am not saying that you were behaving like that.)
Here's what happened - it was a local fete near where I lived, and Anita Harris was there in some capacity, possibly opening it or whatever. There was a table at the jumble sale with toys on, and I'd picked one up and was about to ask my mum if she could buy me it. There was a photographer from the local paper there and Harris had chosen a child she was going to have her photo taken with. Anyway, Harris snatched the toy I was holding right out of my hand and went and bought it for this other kid for the photo opportunity as I stood there stunned (there were loads of other toys on the table she could have bought them, but she had instead grabbed the one off of me). I started crying, and then Harris snapped at me for crying and complained to the photographer that I was in the background of the shot, whereupon some helper or other yanked me out of the way.

I was anything but loud, spoiled or precocious - I was actually a very quiet, well behaved child who was sensitive to things that were unfair or wrong like that.

Thanks for explaining the situation, it certainly was unkind of her, and I would never have thought that she could ever have behaved like that.

I hate reading horrible stories like that. That's just an awful thing to happen to a child

What an unpleasant woman

Given that A Lorna Moon goes on to praise BoJo, Thatcher and Portillo, I can see where he/she is coming from.
If you think there is a political bias then you are wrong, unless you have met and spent time in the company of someone then all you will ever get is their public persona, for instance Gordon Brown was a pleasant but stressed Chancellor when I first met him, felt awful for him the way he got shafted by Blair, another blast from the past was Gordon Wilson the former SNP leader again a knowledgeable pleasant man whereas Robin Cook was a sleaze bag who tried it on with me, my observations on the folk I have met are based on what I took away from the meeting certainly not because of political bias.

A good example is Pol Pot was a ruthless murdering piece of scum yet people who met him found him to be pleasant and charming, just because we don't like the public person does not mean they are not the opposite in private.

I work around the entertainment industry so have met a few celebs over the years:
Nice:
Dame helen mirran:a absolute sweetheart no fuss and brought in an Oscar cake after the queen.
Christopher eccelstone:got a rep for being a bit stiff but missed his whole lunch break to chat to some young Dr Who fans.
Gemma arterton:was freezing cold in filming but was so polite and welcoming.
Dildoayed for our dinner after we chatted about her new album
Elija wood:very unassuming and down to earth.
Most suprisingly was khloe kardashian no diva behaviour but was hilarious.

Not nice:
John simm:absolutely rude when ask if he could sign some photos for some young Dr Who fans.he told them to **** off got no time for those sci fi freaks.
Martine mccutchen:total diva.
Breden frazer:so rude to cast members and extras.
Alistair stewart:had a go at me on the train because I picked up his newspaper.
Niger havers:absolute tosser.
Many more but those are the worst.

Way back in the late 90s Leonard Nimoy came to sign his book in Belfast.

On my lunch time I rushed over and squeezed into the crowd round the roped off area he was sitting in. I didn't have the money to buy his book, pay day was a few days away.

So guard of honour all dressed like Trekkers doing crowd control(mainly young and middle aged women), so Leonard stood up to take a break and no doubt nip to the toilet. We all clapped and he looked a little taken back but suddenly walked over and started saying Hello to us all. The Trekkers rushed over and started ushering him away. But he didn't have to come over and speak to us non book buyers.

Has Nigel Havers taken over from Cilla as the most consistently obnoxious "celebrity".
It seems few have a good word to say about him.

Seems that way, lol. I think he's the sort of person who's 'nice to his own kind'.

Met Tim Roth back in the late 80s when I was a film extra, he was rather full of himself back then. I was in awe of Helen Mirren at the time and a bit scared to talk to her but she did chat very briefly with some of us, coveting the leather coat of one other extra on the set.
Michael Gambon held court with some other actors during long breaks due to heavy rain and joked about using a bucket and rubber tubing because he didn't want leave the tea coach to go to the toilet while it poured outside.

Take your pick! Probably those who are useful to him, in some way. ..actually that's mean. A one-off negative encounter isn't enough to assess, really. Bad me. He could be a thoroughly nice chap, for all I know.

Just remembered I once held the door open for the woman behind me at John Lewis. It turned out to be Dame Helen Mirren. She said "thanks" but as our meeting was only for a matter of seconds, I couldn't really say whether she was nice or not

Anyone met any of the hunger games or the game of thrones casts? I am particularly interested in fan meetings with Lena headey and natalie dormer.
My son has been a very busy extra in the last 4 seasons of GoT here in Belfast and worked in scenes with Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister)...said he's a top bloke, very down to earth with a great sense of humour and had loads of time for chatting with the extras. No airs at all.

Also Julian Glover (Pycelle) - said he's a very charming man, on the quiet side but casual and friendly.

Also Iain Glenn (Mormont) - didn't get chatting with him but he watched him interacting with the production crew and others and said he was a friendly enough guy.

Noah Taylor (Locke) - a treat because he's Aussie too and I've enjoyed his films since the 80's and it's great to see him getting roles internationally. My son told him I was a fan of his and he told him to say hello to me from him

Met a bloke at work the other day who had met members of Blondie (the music group) back in the 1990s. He said Debbie Harry was po-faced and standoffish. Chris Stein very quiet and seemed bored. Jimmy Destri very friendly.

I've heard quite a few negative stories about Peter Dinklage from fans. I just think he's not a huge fan of the attention he receives.
