Keith Allen. A film company called RPM Productions was making part of a programme called 'Whatever You Want' for Channel 4 in its early days. We were to feature in a section on pirate radio and went down to London to meet everyone. The presenter was to be a certain Mr Allen. Rather full of himself and full of (rather false) go-getting energy, he struck me as a complete twot. He did take us to the pub though.

Frankie Vaughan. I was making a video of Frankie's presence at a charity do and he was brilliant - outgoing, friendly and genuine. He could see how I was trying to get my shots and made sure my way was clear. He sought me out afterwards and bought me a drink and we chatted for a while. What nice bloke.

David Hamilton Met him at a Free Radio meeting in the 80's. An absolute scream, completely down to earth and very chatty, showing much interest in my pirate radio activities. Spent half an hour at the bar with him and came away feeling full of joy.

Jimmy Savile. I set up some AV stuff for him when he was doing a charity thing at Manchester University. As I was working in the hall, he came in in his tracksuit. Never once did he drop his 'now then now then' act and was awful and dismissive.

.
His son went to the same college as me, and I very, very, very slightly knew Frankie Vaughan through him, an absolutely lovely man - his son was equally nice, my Aunt, who was a silver service waitress and did a lot of Variety Club dos back in the 60s and 70s also always had him down as one of her favourite people to wait on.

When I was at uni in London I worked part time at Kensington Palace, two people stood out as absolutely nasty , Diana and that odious sidekick Burrell, he was a snide always grassing and toe licking to the royals, had two bollockings from her because a certain person she was obsessed with refused to take her phone calls and the other because of the snide Burrell, I lasted 8 months as the place was literally an awful work environment.
I always thought that Diana wasn't all that she seemed and that she was fake and insincere. So many people thought she was lovely, but I always saw through it. Never liked her and never understood the huge grief when she died. However, I won't judge those who were upset as my mum was one of them sobbing the day she died.

I got horrifically rounded on when I posted my opinions on that horrid woman in the Willie Workshy thread, strangely enough Princess Pushy was very nice and friendly.

This wasn't me, but I do remember a work colleague telling me one time he was on the tube and Keith Allen was also on. My work mate was minding his own business, Keith Allen looked at him and said ' Yes, it is me, alright'

No you didn't. You were called out on your hissing, spitting, rage-filled terminology.

I doubt many people think of Diana as the saintly figure she liked to paint herself as but your rantings about her were completely OTT. Revisit your posts and see for yourself.

Nice to hear the positive posts about Ronnie Corbett, he always struck me as a friendly sort of man and quite down to earth. Anyone met Ronnie Barker, as he was a bit more of an enigma and didn't court publicity?

Sadly some people are still deluded about that vile woman, just because she is dead there no excuse for giving her a pass for all the hurt and nastiness she caused, you saw the public side, I saw the private side and I hated what I saw.

Eight months and four days I worked at KP, every working day when she was in residence was awful for the staff, she really believed her own press and that made things worse, the atmosphere was so bad when I quit I had to seek medical attention for stress.

Twenty years later I'm still affected by the bullying atmosphere that was prelevent at KP, she had no right to bollock me, if I had done something wrong then I had a superior who would have spoke to me, I did not feel her bullying was justified. Bullying of staff by Royals was an accepted thing back then but I never accepted it and maybe that's why she hated me. I hope to god that in the twenty years that have past conditions and the culture have improved for household staff but sadly I fear it has not.

She was called saintly Diana but the real saints were those that had to endure her awfulness.

I could relate to you many witnessed accounts of her behaviour and nastiness and that of her snide Burrell, her hissy fit over a car being late and the tantrum about a small insignificant stain caused by her that was missed during a deep clean of her accomodation.

Honestly, I don't doubt any of this.

I actively discouraged someone I worked with - she was lovely but naive and royal-infatuated - a few years ago not to take up a job she was offered at BP (the salary was very basic but she was persuaded that the prestige of working there somehow balanced it out) and that she could do so much better. And thankfully, she saw sense and turned it down.

It was even worse for staff attached to Andrew and Fergie when they were still an item, the girl who I replaced was on their staff in the eighties and worked horrifically long hours, went three weeks with only one day off and was the punch bag for their relationship when they argued which was frequently. She thought KP would be a calmer happier place to work, how wrong she was as she had to quit after her doctor said her health was at risk.

I have heard unsubstantiated talk that the Middletons are despised amongst the household staff because of their attitude and they way they speak to staff, I know my posts on the workshy thread were full of hate but having explained my reasoning behind them hopefully you can understand why I still hate that woman with a passion.

Yes, but her siblings and parents are just as bad I'm told, it's my understanding that there is a lot of bitchiness aimed at Camillia's daughter from a certain Middleton for what reason I have no idea. Being in service be it private or Household is very hit and miss as far as working conditions go.

Peter Capaldi was absolutely lovely. I met him at the HMV signings for the latest Doctor Who blu-ray and he was utterly charming and was more than happy to pose for a photo with me.

Sounds like you went through the warzone. Maybe you should write a book.

Were there any members of the royal family that were/are somewhat decent, or perhaps, even quite nice?

The Queen? Harry?
