wasn't that Wogan?
That's what I thought too.

It was Wogan. He used to sort of deconstruct Dallas on his morning show.

My friend is an actress and was on an episode of Rosemary & Thyme. She said that Felicity Kendal was a bitch to her from start to finish and she had no idea why. She was giving her dirty looks, ignoring her and generally being unpleasant. My friend is one of the friendliest and nicest people I know, so I know she would not have done anything to upset her.

I live near a very famous footballer, premier league, English international and now a pundit. Him. his wife and their kids shop in local shops and eat / drink in local pubs They were born and raised around here so it's not a big deal to see them they really are totally normal and I've never seen them being bothered by anyone as they don't draw attention to themselves

I get the impression she's not at all sociable - when Richard Briers died I watched a few interviews with him, he said she woulnd't keep in contact with the other Good Life people. He called her a "strange girl".

I met Catherine Tate at comic con once. Worst £45 I've ever spent! Rude doesn't even come close! 🙄

A couple of sportsmen I have met who are very nice and normal (sort of) are:-

Frank Bruno, the way he comes across on tv is exactly how he is when you meet him. Very chatty & with that famous laugh too. I met him while he was filming an episode of the sooty show on Brean beach a few years ago. He was interested in asking questions about my dog. Nice guy.

I once met Leighton Baines in Liverpool Lime St Station after an Everton game. My brother & I asked for a photo & he was very obliging. He is fairly quiet almost shy, but a lovely fella. Being an Everton fan that was a nice moment.

There's a nice story going around about Louise Redknapp helping pull out a lady who fell into a freezer.
Dozy cow, how do you fall into a freezer?

Not surprised; she always looks like she feels her shit don't stink. She's also not in the remotest bit funny.

Catherine Tate once photobombed a picture I was taking with some friends. I didn't even know she'd done it till the next day.

Gary Lineker. Decided he was above queueing and just walked to the front of a large queue at Costa and demanded to be served as he was in a hurry.

Funny how it seems to be the C and D listers who act the most stuck up.
Ain't that the truth. I've always said, and I still maintain, the more famous you are, the nicer you are.

Perhaps not a true celebrity yet but always nice to pass some positive feedback on someone who is a rising star.

My daughter helped out behind the scenes recently at a food show and met Nada who won Great British Bakeoff last year. She chatted to her for a while and said she was absolutely lovely, totally unspoilt by her win, very normal and very grounded .

Really? I'd be very interested to know what happened...

I've been very lucky with every celebrity I've met and I've probably mentioned this before on this thread but David Mitchell is the nicest man in the world. I met him once, and have seen him a few times since at various TV recordings. Back in the summer I went to see a pilot he was recording (Time Spanner) at BBC broadcasting house. He walked past the audience queue to the studio and we all wondered where he was off to! Then he came back ten minutes later somehow balancing about ten coffees. He'd obviously gone on the tea run! Showed what a down to earth guy he is, most celebs would have sent a runner.

Harry Hill is also a complete gentleman and a lovely kind man. It's great to meet your heroes and not to be disappointed. Here's a random list of other people I've seen live that are awesome:

Harry Enfield: At an Upstart Crow recording, ran up to the audience half way through saying in a sing song voice 'haha I get to go to the loo now and you all can't!' before disappearing .He's brilliantly fun.
Tim Downie (from Toast of London and Upstart Crow) Lovely man.
Paul Merton: Always loved him. Saw him at an HIGNFY? recording a couple of weeks ago. Ian Hislop dashed off to the loo to which Paul made a few jokes about him having a cocaine habit and mused on all the celebrities he may be getting it from, then when Ian walked back in we were all quiet. Then Hislop knowingly wiped his nose and the audience erupted. Such a shame things like that are never on TV.
Richard Osman: Nice, down to earth.
Henning Wehn: Fantastically funny. Even more so in real life.
Aisling Bea: Kind, lovely and funny!
Jon Richardson: As he is on TV. Nice man
Gareth Edwards (comedy producer) lovely man
Ben Elton: Really nice and very enthusiastic.
Vic and Bob: Saw them from afar at one of their tour dates. You can just feel their friendship. It's lovely to watch.
Lee Mack: Completely natural and impossibly quick.

I'm sure I could think of more. I'd love to meet Tim Vine, I bet he's lovely.

Rather apt that I post this now but Robert Vaughn was a true professional, met him and the cast of Hustle in 2010, sad to hear of his passing

Going back to year dot, I was in customers account and I took a phone call( a colleque in one of the shops passed him on) he said his name Robert Vaughn.
I gave directions on how to get to another branch of the shops
In givingdirections I told him to be aware of con men pretending to take photos( there were quite few around)
He was quite chatty quick general chat lol I told him he must go to to a theatre
I told him about bus routes .
The penny did not drop said bye
Another colleque Joyce came back from her teabreak I said had call from ###branch the sales asst. asked to speak to you The very nice american got same name as actorRobert Vaughn lol turns out it was him
Cut story short poor Joyce she told me that there was 'code' if someone from TV came in to shop and something like we not got item in stock instead of just sending them to nearest branch to phone up customers account
I had call from sales asst later telling me that Robert said he not long arrived in UK
He had so far been signing autographs from fans who spotted him they got autograph and went on their way

Sorry
I try to explain again
Back many years I was in customers accounts working for famous shop that had many branches
My colleaque Joyce had gone to tea
phone went it was sales asst. from one of the shops
She passed me on to Robert who wished to buyan item that was not in stock in that shop but was in stock in another shop
Colleque said can speak to Joyce but she gone for her tea break.
Sales asst said could I give directions on how to get to the shop
I got passed onto Robert
I gave directions. I also told him to be careful as there were con artists working by landmarks pretending to take photos giving ticket for collection but collection shop did not exsist
I also told him to be careful about getting change as at that point there were ice cream vans conning tourist of their change.
Robert never let on that he was an actor I told him on how to get to places like theatres.
Phone call ended joyce came back I told her about the call
Joyce said that she got code if any famous came in the sales asst if poss will phone customers account and get Joyce on the phone
Sales asst should really give directions herself rather then phone and get Joyce on the line.
I had call from that asst later on and she also said about 'code' etc
I think Robert must of relised but thought it was nice thing to do by not letting on and just chatting normaly with not saying who he was.
I just thought he was an american with same name

A colleague's sister recently had the misfortune to meet Carol Vorderman . She said she was so disinterested in anyone and tended to look past people rather than at them.
