I did see GOTR quite a few times. It was good seeing James, but the sure didn't write those songs in his key. And they lost brownie points for being brats after the band split up.

James had to pull out of Hub 3 this weekend as he'd had a spill on the set of Caprica and bumped his noggin, and the doctors told him he couldn't fly. Bless him, it's a big noggin to bump. At least his hair might have cushioned the blow.

They reckon he'll be okay for this weekend in London though.

I met Tim Healey and Andy Cole (in Julies in the Quayside for any fellow Geordies). Tim Healey came over because he knew my friend and called me pet. He chatted away and it wasn't until later that I realised that the bloke I'd been chatting to was Dennis from Auf Wiedersehen. Andy Cole danced with me and my friend and was a quiet guy but did an autograph for my little cousin - shame it was on the back of an advert for a topless night . That was years ago now.

David Baddiel and Philip Schofield were a bit miserable.

Brian Molko is a teeny tiny angel of goodness. The rest of Placebo are lovely as well. It's always a huge pleasure to spend time with them.

Bloc Party are fantastic people. They are quiet guys and just not arrogant at all. Matt is so good looking in real life as well. I was so impressed with how nice they all were - just ordinary, kind people.

I'm jealous of anyone who's met Gok Wan. I love that man. I doubt he'd ever make me happy about my vile nakedness but I could let him try while hoisting up my bangers.

I met Johnny Marr from the Smiths (and Cribs) last week, and he was really lovely

Previously met Jimmy Carr, Mick Jones from the Clash, Gem from Oasis, errrr and etc. They were all very nice

When I was 17, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go backstage on Time Team. I met Mick Aston (extremely friendly and chatty), Victor Ambrus (again, very friendly, and showed me and my Mum around the incident room and one of the pictures)... and Tony Robinson. Mardy get. He spent most of his time asleep in the car except when he was needed for filming, and when we were allowed to have a photo with him, I couldn't help but wonder if his face would crack if he smiled. I also had to ring someone while I was there, and he saw me and, if looks could kill, I would not be typing this.

I've also met Mike Elliott (played the boxing coach in Billy Elliot, among other acting roles). He's very cuddly and friendly.

The rest of the famous people I've met aren't really that well known outside the folk music circuit.

Awww, jealous! I love how excitable he is too...when one of the lads meeting him said his name was Jake, Jon started telling stories about Jake the Snake Roberts and other wrestlers from the 1980s-90s that he liked! The rest of the band and Yves Klein Blue (the support band, who were fantastic) were really down to earth and fan friendly too...usually the curtains to the dressing room windows are always closed (they are just above the entrance to the LCR, where we queue)...the curtains were open for the entire time they were there and both bands repeatedly came to the windows to wave and have a laugh. There was little divide between the band and the fans (and no divide between Jon and the fans) and I found that really refreshing and rather exciting!


Johnny's an absolute sweetheart! And I am insanely jealous that you have met Gem! I'd love to meet him (and the lovely Andy Bell)- he always comes across as a really sweet, grounded man.

Has anyone on here ever met Richard Ashcroft? Hes an absolute hero of mine and Id love to know what he's like in person.

That's Thora Hird! My grandmother was a friend of her's during the war and they still kept in touch until my grandma's death in 1981. There were no airs and graces about our Thora, she was down to earth, very quick witted and a true friend. She never forgot her roots and could show the so called stars of today how to behave. A true Dame.

The lead singer from Doves was a highly polite man when I met him at a bar in Manchester.

Both of us had a quick chat chain smoking and sinking back the shandies.

I could tell he was accustomed to such behaviour so much so that he came across and modest and unaware of his 'social standing'

Probably not technically celebrities but anyway I met some of the presenters of CNBC's London shows in 2007. They were lovely people and very easy to talk to. I even have photos of me with them!

My daughter was in a film with Bill Murray (she was an extra with a couple of words). She said he was really nice and friendly and funny. He spoke to the extras, joked with them and asked what they had had for lunch etc. Not at all showbizzy (before she worked with him I had heard that he wasn't nice to work with at all).

I have met both Roger Lloyd Pack, and Paul Barber (Trigger and Denzil) from only fools and horses.

Roger was signing autographs and wished me "all the best in life".

I've not met many celebrities....but the ones I have met are Jon Snow (Channel 4 newsreader) at one of my university lectures - very nice man...looks very well for his age, down-to-earth, smart and witty...I was so starstruck I forgot to thank him for the autograph lol

...I've met HRM when I was younger....she was cool...I don't know if this counts but I saw Mr Hudson today at a CD signing at my local HMV...I would have love to have met him and got a signed CD but I already bought the CD off itunes! damn lol....anyway, I wasn't too far away from him....he seemed like a nice chap, not a diva in the slightest had a small entourage...even more goodlooking and finneee in person *sigh* his security people weren't too nice!....made my day lol! had a huge smile on my face after haha!...xo

Summer and Kris from Hollyoaks were also lovely, as was Ronan Keating.

I'm hearing more good things about James Marsters this weekend. He was meant to be at the Hub 3 last weekend but couldn't due to his accident.

Turns out some part of the set, a metal sheet used for lighting, fell on his head and back of the neck. He had double concussion and was in hospital for two days. Then when he gets up on his feet they discover he's got a bulging (slipped) disc too. But he still made it over to London this weekend, but couldn't sit down. He apparently was laid flat on a table, propped up by pillows to do his autograph sessions.

What a pro.

John Simpson, BBC World Affairs Reporter, is absolutely charming and will chat away as if you are a friend, not at all uppity. Nick Robinson, Political Reporter, is the same - totally real and charming. A hard-worker.
I have met Gordon Ramsey, and much to my amazement, he is actually quite sexy and fun. Gary Rhodes is friendly and huggy, but, tbh, a bit creepy.
Linda Bellingham is professional and friendly. Down to earth. Met Koo Stark and she is gentle sweet person, she was in the bear factory in Covent Garden with about seven little girls having a party.
Nicholas Lindhurst is really miserable as is Alan Davies. Have met Angharad Rees Jones (Poldark) and she is petite and utterly gorgeous like a little doll. I went to her house for a jewellery sale. She sources jewels for jewellery called Angharad.
Lived next door to Graham Norton and he is great, he actually took my box of wine round. Had lots of parties.
Liz Hurley is miserable - saw her in the hairdressers once and she smokes like a trooper.

In what way did you find Gary Rhodes creepy?

She comes in for coffee on a fairly regularly basis where my wife works and she says she's always really really nice, very polite if a little quiet but friendly.

My wife ends up having to convince the part time Saturday girls that she's someone famous from Harry Potter, Doctor Who etc, with most thinking its a wind up because they expect a celeb to be big headed and bigmouthed but Shirley is an absolute gem!!

One of Sharleen Spiteri's guitar players is also a regular, the one that looks like buddy holly, he dresses like that all the time its not just for on stage

He is too huggy. Let me explain - I was at the Taste of London food show, where all the famous cooks produce small portions of their food in exchange for tokens (paid for vouchers). Some of the cooks have books to sell, so sign them and chat away. Gary Rhodes is very tactile so he will hug and kiss anyone. It's a bit weird and slightly inappropriate I think - though some might say 'how lovely'.
My friend wanted to take a photo of him with three of us and he had his arms around all of us quite tightly and we stayed there for ages while my friend had some problem with her camera. He just stayed and then insisted on kissing all of us!!!

I met Dannii Minogue in the X factor rehearsals and she was absolutley lovely...She was realy sweet and funny and she gave me a hug.

Met all the other acts and Dermot aswell..Lucie sat with us for ages chatting. John and Edward were also realy lovely.

John Inverdale was absolutely fine with me and others at an event we were at- although I do find him a little smarmy for my tastes.

I've never worked with him though, so you may have a different perspective.

never knew this thread was here until today so spent most of it reading all 39 pages lol. How you get to meet so many great people is brilliant and also slightly unfair compared to my small list. Have never met anyone so far who has been anything but lovely.

I've met him about half a dozen times over the last few years and he's been lovely every time. The first time I met him was pre-Torchwood and the massive fame he's gained from that hasn't changed him at all, delighted to say. He actually recognised me the last time, too, which was amazing considering the amount of people he meets at conventions, signings, stage doors, etc.

I've met most of the Doctor Who/Torchwood casts (and some of the crew/writers), actually, and they've all been an absolute joy. I have nothing but praise for all of them and the lengths they go to for their fans.
