![]() Rather random but have encountered: Stephen Fry (total angel) Archbishop of Canterbury (can I count him as a celeb?) who was v. charming. Joe Jackson (a bit twitchy at being approached, but very polite) Linford Christie (ditto) Poet John Hegley - met him in a bar, told him I loved his poetry and he immediately bought me a drink. ![]() In my hospital working days also witnessed visit by Prince Charles - a young teenage patient bellowed, "F*** me, it's Prince Charles!" at which he laughed quite nicely. Also Prince Edward, looking shy and ill-at-ease, while his wife looked every inch the born royal. |

Lovely Cilla story. She was in panto and they were doing the ghost behind you sketch. When she was left on her own, she had to say 'Oh, I'm so frightened of ghosts. What shall I do to scare it away?' and a little darling in the audience shouted out 'sing to it - that should do it!' I don't think she was amused though, although everyone else was.

Of course, nothing is foolproof. I've read of plently of people who have had bad experiences at organized conventions and premieres so just because it's an organized event that doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared for anything. Celebs are real people who have good and bad days and, like real people, some are nice and some are not. You just have to go with it and if you have a bad experience, it's a shame, but it's how people can be - all people. |

I forgot a couple on my list earlier: Kaye Adams - Lovely woman. We had drinks and she was funny and interesting Daniel Faison (The black guy in Scrubs) - really nice guy. Met him while bowling in LA. I was chatting to him with no clue of who he was until my rather starstruck daughter told me. He happily had a picture with the kids And just to elaborate on the people I mentioned earlier: Lorna Luft Initially met her as a fan but we have become good friends Ken Kercheval - met through Lorna when they appeared in theatre together Lorraine Chase - Again met through Lorna Patricia Hodge - Again met through Lorna Craig McLachlan - met through Lorna when they appeared in theatre together Jon Voigt - Again met through Lorna Stevie Nicks - lifelong fan. Went to see her show in Las Vegas and got to meet her afterwards Sheryl Crow She was with Stevie when I met her Lindsey Buckingham - met him when Fleetwood Mac toured over here in 2004 Mick Fleetwood - met him when Fleetwood Mac toured over here in 2004 Peter Green - met him backstage at a Fleetwood Mac show in 2004 Brian Wilson (not really on this planet!) - Again met through Lorna |

I totally agree. Imagine you've got a bad tummy, you feel knackered and ill, and people are approaching you wanting conversation about your job? You wouldn't appreciate it would you? I think people and their personal space should be respected and left to their own devices unless in an official work capacity.

I've been quite lucky with who I've met as most have been nice.
The nice ones I've met are: Phillip Schofield and Caron Keating - they opened my school fete years ago, they were both really lovely and friendly and more than happy to chat to people and have their pics taken etc. Ian Lavender - I sat on his knee when I was younger lol at a charity cricket match, he was lovely and really friendly. Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy - Stephen is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, so friendly and down to earth and takes a lot of time out for the fans. Even if he is in a rush and can't really stop, he always has a smile and hello for you. Shane and Keith are just as nice too. (I haven't met Ronan and Mikey though so I don't know what they're like) Bruno Langley - one of the nicest guys you could ever meet too. He's always genuinely interested in what you have to say and is really down to earth. He's not really into the fame thing so I think it's impressive that he still stops to talk to people when he'd probably prefer to keep a low profile. Michael Ball - absolutely hilarious, and really nice and friendly. Christopher Biggins - hysterically funny, really nice guy. Wayne Sleep - really friendly and nice guy, he and my mum were flirting with each other though I know he's gay but he was deffo being flirty with my mum, and she with him SO embarrassing!Jason Donovan - absolutely lovely and has a lot of time for the fans. I was impressed with how he came out of the theatre after the matinee of the show specifically to chat to fans and sign autographs etc. Lee from 911 - he was really nice. The security guard was telling him off for chatting to the fans but he ignored him and carried on regardless. Connie Fisher - really lovely and very humble. Lesley Garrett - an absolute sweetheart, so chatty and friendly and a very warm person. The sort of nice and sort of not: Will Young - he was rude and dismissive and he pushed my mum out of the way. He wouldn't meet any fans unless he had his security guard with him to line everyone up in a queue (even though there was only a few of us there). He was nice to talk to once we got to meet him though, and he has the most gorgeous smile ever....it was just his attitude beforehand that wasn't so nice. As a huge fan, his attitude really disappointed me, but I'm hoping that he was just having a bad day. I haven't held it aganst him anyway ![]() The not so nice: Russ Abbott - he was really rude and obnoxious and he stank of booze. |

I've come across Les Dennis and Amanda .... her surname escapes me but it was his ex-wife. She was genuinely lovely but he just looked miserable although it was Sunday morning and they (she!) was clothes shopping.
Footballer Nigel Winterbourne (sp?) was another one who was who I was once served in a shop, no airs and grace despite being asked for his signature when he was trying to pay for goods! And one of his card was declined! |

I've met Kevin Keegan a couple of times. First time as a checkout girl in the early nineties when he was hilarious and really friendly. The second time was a couple of years ago when he was not friendly at all.. But then I was in my professional capacity as being from 'The Council', so it isn't that surprising really!

I believe he made number four or something like that not too long ago on a list of the best Hollywood autograph signers. It was nice to see he actually lives up to reputation.

[quote=supergirlblibs;28539092]Nicholas Lyndhurst is a bit grumpy, he shops in my local M&S and he tries to be so unobvious (hat, sunglasses) that he is in fact, really obvious

Louis Walsh was a bit drunk when I met him...he fell off a curb...enough said really.
Lesley Garrett was a lovely lady, didn't seem to mind the fact that I practically jumped on her at all! All of G4 are very sociable and friendly when you meet them. Ian Lavender and his wife are also really lovely, friendly people. I love them!! |

I've only met Peter Beardsley - and he was absolutely lovely. Oh I briefly met footballer Michael Chopra too but it was only for about 20 seconds and didn't get much of an impression.
The girl from Same Difference [XF] was at my graduation ball as a guest. I hope she didn't see me drunk and lifting my dress up She seemed lovely anyway, not that I spoke to her. I was far too drunk to talk, so I pointed and exclaimed "OH MY GOD! SAME DIFFERENCE!". I hope she was drunk too so didn't notice.I would love to meet Dara O'Briain, David Tennant, Billie Piper and Catherine Tate. Because I love Mock the Week [but the other comedians seem quite cut-throat ] and Doctor Who.

Mike "Squeaky" McClean - former 'roving' reporter for Richard and Judy.
Not quite a 'proper' celeb in that sense, but an arrogant tosser nonetheless
