This is just it people do change over the years. Some people just judge them on a brief encounter that happened years ago, and not as the person they are today.

entire chelsea team and michael winner, with the footballers it seems when there is no camera about they revert to type... too rich to acknowledge the normal folk.

Can't seem to remember if i've posted here before but here goes...

Met The Wanted in november, nice lads - happy to stop with fans & chat, management tried to pull them away but they couldn't help themselves to stay with the fans & sign & take pictures!

Also, met The Saturdays in december, very charming girls! I have to say Rochelle, Mollie & Una stood out to me, most chatty but Frankie & Vanessa were lovely as well, a bit shy but other than that just down to earth girls!

I have also unfortunately met Diana Vickers, who is rude & is up her own her arse I have to say. Disapointed, as I really liked her on the X Factor! Mcfly boys were very kind to fans!

Feel I should bat in as support for Westlife here. Over the past 13 years i've met them numerous times both in 'formal' and informal situations. Ok, so sometimes they're tired and moody (well certain members, not ALL members), but generally they're sweet, well mannered, smiley but a little shy.
I think sometimes we mistake shyness for rudeness. A lot of celebrities from acting and music find the fame side quite intimidating and nerveracking and i think this can be reflected in their 'offduty' perceived behaviour.

Oh what happened with Stephen Mulhern? I kinda thought he would be quite friendly.

A friend of mine was living in LA for a while as she was trying to become an actress. She was in a supermarket and didn't have enough dollars for what she wanted - she forgot she had already spent a $20 bill.

Justin Timberlake was a few people behind her in the queue. He could see she was getting more and more embarrassed and the shop assistant wasn't particuarly patient with her. He moved out of the queue and only paid for her shopping!!! Not a huge amount, just $30 - odd dollars.

I didn't believe her when she told me, until she showed me a pic on her camera phone!!

That's so nice!!! Justin always came across as decent.

I met Martin O'Neill the football manager - absolutely lovely!!! Just a very good man.

I also met Iain Duncan Smith and he was lovely too!! Small little man.

As you can see I'm rather short on meeting celebs!!

Nice
John Terry (Met him on family day out with kids at Chessington's, with friend Wayne Bridge and a lady - who later turned out to be Vanessa Perroncel, and this was here and John's first meeting!)

Problem was a few people with me asked Wayne Bridge if they could get an autograph from John, thinking he was a bodyguard/agent of his

That's so lovely of him!!!

A few years ago, I met Richard Grieve, who used to play Sam on Neighbours (back in the 90s) and, more recently, Jonny the gay blacksmith in Emmerdale. He was totally and utterly lovely. Gave me a big hug and a kiss. Swoon! Was disappointed to learn he's gay in real life - not because I have anything against gay people - just means I'll never be in with a chance!!!

I also met Richard Hawley, who used to appear in Family Affairs, and also Prime Suspect, in a queue for train tickets. He was really friendly and promised to email me some info on Buddhism - which he did.

Recently met Simon Cowell's mother, a very charming and friendly woman.

Kate O'Mara - according to a friend who served her in a restaurant - not lovely at all.

Most celebs Ive ever met have been lovely, with the exception of...

Esther Rantzen - did a film shoot based where I was working once. Sat with a face like a sucked lemon the entire time. Spoke to no-one not even the crew! Someone just prodded her when she was due on air!

Bob Geldof - trod on my toe at a Frankie Goes To Hollywood (showin my age ) gig back in the 80s and never apologised - hated the man ever since .

Prince Charles - looked at everyone like we were peasants (which we probably are to him). Didnt warm to him at all.

Dh saw a heavily pregnant Kate Thornton in our Asdas the other week and got a glare when he smiled at her!!”

My mum once met a TV producer who had, many years ago, gone out with Esther Rantzen. He said she was a total c!w.

I knew someone who worked on a film with Jennifer Aniston, back when Jen was with Brad. She said that Jennifer was absolutely lovely, very friendly and great to work with.

A friend sent Tony Hawks a letter saying how much she liked one of his books. He contacted her to say thank you for sending the letter, and they ended up chatting on the phone for about 10 minutes!

Met Billy Bragg - he was an absolute gent.

Also met Ian Kelsey who used to be in Emmerdale. He was a nice guy, if a bit shy.

I know someone who worked on a film with Vinnie Jones, and said that he was a complete t***er.

(Apologies if I've posted these before; I couldn't remember and didn't want to read through the whole thread again to check.)

My husband met Patrick Moore, who was delightful, and also Honor Blackman, who he found very elegant and sexy, even though she's in her seventies.

He also met Sir Ian McKellern, who he liked very much.

That's a lovely story!

I have a friend who was flying somewhere with her mum, and they got bumped up to first class. My friend wandered around the airport looking at shops, while her mom decided to wait in the first class lounge.

When my friend got back, her mom said that she had been chatting to a really nice young man, and pointed said young man out to my friend....who nearly fainted when she saw that it was Justin Timberlake. Apparently, her mom had started to chat to him because he was sitting near to her (the mom had no idea who he was) and he had been very friendly and nice back. He didn't tell her who he was or anything, but was just a lovely guy.

I always get a good 'vibe' from Justin Timberlake anyway.

Incredibly, the lovely Honor is now 83, certainly a shining example of how to grow old gracefully.

Just imagine, she is old enough to be Ann Widdicombe's Mother!

Not sure about Westlife really I am a mega fan and waited with others after their concert last year in Cardiff and they just got straight in cars and ignored us. I suppose they were tired after the concert and didn't want to be mobbed to just left.

I met Jessica Fox (who pays nancy in hollyoaks) in topman a few weeks back. I didn't notice her but my friend did and was like screaming it to get my attention (and clearly she heard it).

She politely said hi as she was heading to the Escalator. I reckon she's friendly but was shy and afraid of my very loud friend XD (I don't blame her)

My dad met Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) from Corrie and said he was really friendly and chatty.

My dad also met the beatles back in the day at one of their very early gigs in liverpool. Cilla black was there aswell and my dad said her singing was awful. Lol... he only went there for the beatles.

Cerys Matthews is lovely - she regularly stays behind after gigs and gives talks to her fans. A fan had twittered Cerys and shown her a video of her brother singing one of Cerys' songs and at a gig that I went to she called the kid up on the stage and he performed with Cerys - the kid was overjoyed.
