I didn't actually meet her physically, but years ago, when I used to help out on the Compuserve forums, I regularly used to sort out computer problems for Miriam Margolyes. She was great, we got on well, she even gave me her phone number, though when I got the courage to call & say hello there was just an answer phone message saying she was off filming somewhere. Oh well!

Forgot about these.

Lesley Crowther at a dance show I was performing in. I was about 5 and he scared me, he was a bit stern and unfriendly and wasn't interested in us at all.

Lesley Ann Down before she went to the US. I met her queuing for a US visa, she was so nice. We had a cigarette together and she told me all about how excited she was to be getting the chance to go to America and be in films. We chatted all about our bf's, at that time she was with someone called Bruce and she was really upset about having to leave him at home, but that they were going to get married one day.

I don't think she ever came back to the UK and she never married Bruce.

My sister met Paddy from Emmerdale a few years ago in a local nightclub that he was a special guest in and said he was a delight.

My other sister met Claire Sweeney last year in Spain during the Ash Cloud and she was sitting outside a cafe with her friend who immediately said that Claire wasn't meeting with fans today when they walked over towards her, Claire immediately said No to her friend and started chatting to my sister and her friends and she was really lovely apparently.

This isn't technically meeting but I've had Facebook messages from a number of X Factor stars who have been lovely and my friends met the Series 5 finalists after the live tour in Belfast.

My sister's friend is a bouncer in a local nightclub and he was in charge the night two stars of Hollyoaks were in, Andrew Moss who plays Rhys and Jennifer Metcalfe who plays Mercedes. He swears they were either extremely drunk or on drugs because Jennifer was extremely moody and rude and kept having mini tantrums but was completely out of the world and Andrew was just going absolutely crazy on the dance-floor like something possessed and his eyes were spinning in his head.

A friend met Laura Hamilton when interviewing her during DOI and she was lovely as were Mary Byrne, Rebecca Ferguson and Wagner. Cher was Cher, Aiden was okay, Matt was surrounded by fans as were One Direction and Paije was very down to earth as well. I don't think he met Katie.

Also to whoever said Alesha Dixon is horrible, my sister's best friend worked in The Odyssey in Belfast and during Enrique Inglesias' concert a few years back, she was given the job of being personal assistant for Enrique and Alesha who was his support act. She got them food and was with them for most of the day until the concert and said that Enrique was very nice and Alesha was especially lovely and chatted away to her like she was someone she had known for years.

Delighted to hear it.

I really like Julia Bradbury and her walk series. I have been enjoying her recent Canal Walks series, although I had to double take at the title.

She seems so pleasant and interested in the people she speaks to. A real charmer. Lovely smile.

Maybe it was an off day for Alesha Dixon as I've always heard nice things about her.

Flew Claire Sweeney home from hols. She wasn't approachable at all but it was a night flight and I understood, it's also a bit unprofessional for us to be too familiar so we just left her to sleep. She was with her mum and all I can say about her is......I want a mum like her. Lovely lovely lady, so polite and so nice to us.

Bumped into Lenny Henry a couple of times when he was in the Midlands in the eighties in a specialist comic shop (Nostalgia and Comics) absolutely lovely guy. A bit of an anorak (so am I !!!) and a first class chap.

A friend of mine won a trip to a TMS box years ago. Sir Geoffrey Boycott is a great bloke, really friendly as is CMJ, Blowers and Aggers. Richie Benaud, OTOH,.......

Met a few Doctor Who stars at conventions. John Levene (apparently rather up himself these days) was charming, Jon Pertwee was great, although rather rude about Lord Tom. Colin Baker is one of the nicest blokes you will ever meet. Peter Davison always gives the impression of being there for the cash. Sylvester McCoy genuinely warm and friendly as is Sophie Aldred. Nicola Bryant was charming and pleasant, Janet Fielding the opposite. Sarah Sutton lovely, Nick Courtney was magical, a really really wonderful guy, Peter Purves and Billy Russell the same. Mark Strickson and his ex-wife were charming and told how they ended up taking on Gerald Flood's wife's dog !!!

JNT had his faults but was always exemplary at conventions.

Graham Williams was charm personified. I did an interview with him at his house for a fanzine 25 years or so ago. His wife was lovely, his house lovely, the cup of tea they served great. I was so honoured he allowed a rather scruffy Doctor Who fan into his home to speak to him about his time on the show. He could not have made me more welcome and I love him, and his charming wife, to bits for it. RIP Graham. You are still missed after 20 years.

Gabrielle Drake drove into me at New Street station years ago. Totally my fault. She mouthed "sorry" at me and seemed so graceful and elegant it was an honour to be bumped by her.

I saw Dominic Jephcott on the tube but he looke a little stern so I lacked the courage to tell him how much I enjoyed him in the Beiderbecke stuff. I also saw Simon Greenall and wanted to shout "Michael" at him but lacked courage.

He raced over there on his pushbike clutching his autograph book. Everyone of the actors gladly signed it and chatted happily with the boys between takes (they were 12 years old). They asked Michael Crawford, the star of the show for his autograph, quite politely. He said "No"....."I don't sign autographs, I don't sign anything"
The boys were devastated

So if you are reading this Michael, as the boys grew up they regularly told this story to anyone and everyone, describing you as a "Pompous w*nker" ”

I have met him after seeing him perform in the theatre can not recall what I saw and I misplaced the aotograph he was charming

I served Christine Bleakley once who was shopping with her mum. She was really nice, smiley and friendly. So is Kirsty Gallacher.

Abi Titmuss and Anna Friel, both rather self-important!

I think you will find that GB is not a Sir but an OBE and also a pain in the bum. Knew him at school and during my adult life and not what I would call a nice person.

I personally decided to call him Sir Geoffrey Boycott as I did decide to call Tom Baker Lord Tom. I am aware he is not really Sir Geoffrey.

He was great when I met him. Really pleasant.

Years ago when I was a teenager ( in the'70's), I was working at a petrol station when Reg Varney from on the buses pulled in for a tank of petrol.
He must have been on his way to a posh do, as he had a dinner suit on complete with dickie bow tie and patent leather shoes, I was impressed how smart he looked.
He didn't have a big posh car, just a small Japanese one I think.
Anyway, he seemed exactly how he was on TV, very smiley, pleasant and friendly, didn't give me a tip though.

Julia's a babe, my favourite "famous" person I've met. Met her a few times now and have been introduced to most of her family. (sister, mum and dad ...) she naturally interested in people and speaks to anyone. So lovely. I once went 8 months between seeing her and when I did see her she instantly recognised me and hugged me. She has a wicked sense of humour and a dirty laugh too I love her. End of.

She did actually marry the actor and writer Bruce Robinson, but it only lasted around 18 months.

I met Una Healy from The Saturdays a few times before she was famous a few years ago.
She lived in Thurles, which is about 10 minutes away from me, and she was good friends with my auntie Una who was in her year at school.
She stayed at my Grannys house with Una a few nights that I was , and one night I remember she did my makeup and my hair for a disco i was going to when i was about 13...
She was apsolutly lovely and was as gorgeous as she is now .
And her Dad is my local doctor so when I go in i get a update on what Una is up to

I haven't met many celebs, but those i have met:

Elizabeth Sladen - when we met her at a convention in Beccles she was extremely kind, talkative, happy, and posed for pictures and signed autographs. She was a very nice lady.

Craig Charles - i was lucky enough to win dinner with him and the crew of Robot Wars back in the day it was on, and i have to say, he is also a really nice guy. he never talked about himself, except when we asked questions, and was interested in what we had to say.

Boys From Liberty X (Tony & Kevin) - i was lucky enough to have a go-kart race with these boys at Pleasurewood Hills (my local theme park) for a segment on a CITV show. They were very nice, posed for photos and were even signing their own songs while driving round the track! They played a concert after. The boys were really nice, but when we saw the girls (Kerri, Jessica & Michelle) and asked for a picture they completely ignored us and carried on walking. Not very pleasureable.

Gareth David Lloyd (Torchwood) - wasn't very talkative, quiet and wasn't keen on signing loads of autographs. Seemed sidetracked and not bothered.

Lil' Chris - amazing!!! He was at his home town of Lowestoft, signing in Woolworths when it was open. He signed all of my Lil Chris cds (i had about seven) and even posed for three or four different photos. Great guy. My mate's mum also had dinner with him and said he was very nice and kind, and was not at all up himself.

Terry Molloy (Davros from Doctor Who) - was alright but seemed very bored also.

Stephen Mulhern - met him at Pleasurewood Hills when Liberty X was there, he was the presenter of the show which the go-kart race featured on and was a fab guy. He showed us some of his magic skills, posed for photos and was a generally amazing guy.

That's about it!

Due to the work I do, i meet "celebs" every now and then. Bit of a mixed bag really.

I met Joss Whedon when I was doing work experience a few years back and I managed to get a signed picture and a quick chat with him. He was really nice and A LOT taller than I imagined.

Simon Cowell was a nice and polite man. Met him twice and he was all smiles

Peter Andre was actually very friendly and nice. Went round the office and made a point of speaking to everyone. Claire from CAN was actually nagging him to hurry up.

Jedward were nice but ever so simple. lol

McFly were alright. Bit reserved

Janice Dickinson was CRAZY! I had a mini photoshoot with her and I had to scrub my face to remove the glossy lipstick

Matthew Morrison from Glee was friendly yet shy but was chatty and quite hot

Recently had Alan Sugar and Alice Cooper in the office but never had chance to get near them

Dont have a huge list but recently met
Jimmy Carr - just a quick signing after a comedy show but a really nice guy and very friendly / loads of time for fans after show which is great considering how knackered he looked.
Jason Manford - met him backstage as he requested people to collect for Help for Heroes. A really nice gesture and he was a really nice guy who spent some time with us but was equally concerned about the people waiting outside 'in the cold' for him.
And a belated mention ..
Chris Evans - met him on a train into London. Well stood next to him while he moaned to his mate about having to stand and 'did they know who he is' - what a cock.
Jean Michel Jarre - performed one of the greatest shows of my life at Wembley arena, did a 45 min encore and then sat on the bonnet of his limo outside signing autographs for at least an hour - hero.
Finally, met Bob Monkhouse in a comic shop in London years ago, one of the true gents I have met in my life - a warm and friendly guy who really seemed to care what I had to say - top bloke and sadly missed.
