He comes across a bit prickly on his radio show sometimes. Shame though, as I used to think he was an example of a former child-star who was actually well-adjusted.

Yeah, I remember from donkeys' years ago when there was an article in the tabs about him bullying other kids at school. You never know when to believe it, though as we all know the tabs can make stories from nowt. Haven't heard his radio show but I remember there was a little bit of the 'diva' in him when he was on SCD. Saw him live playing 'Joseph' in the musical when he was still quite young. He was a bit thin and weedy and didn't come across too well. We put it down to his age and lack of experience in musical theatre.

In terms of 'nice' and 'not so nice' celebs on this thread, I tend to pay more attention to the names that crop up consistently in both categories.

Met a few celebs, mainly through my job but the nicest one that sticks out is Reece Shearsmith.

My daughter & I went to see him in "Ghost Stories" at the Duke of York theatre 2 years ago. We hung around the Stage Door as she had a Psychoville DVD she was hoping he'd signed. He came out and he must have been in a bit of a rush between shows but stopped and had a lovely chat with us and rubbed my arm soothingly (I actually swooned a bit)

When we got home, my daughter messaged him on Twitter to thank him for signing the DVD etc and that we'd thoroughly enjoyed the show: he sent such a nice reply back!

Top bloke!

Anyway she waited by the side of the road (she was the only one there), with a bunch of flowers from her grans garden. She said when the queen (or Princess Elizabeth as she was then) saw her she asked the driver to stop, and thanked mum for the flowers. Mum said the queen chatted briefley, then Prince Philip said 'something cheeky' to my mum which made the queen laugh, and then they drove off. Mum was 18 years old at the time, she's 81 now and has never forgotten that day. She says she'll aways remember the twinkle in prince philips eyes, and that the queen had the most beautiful blue eyes she's ever seen.”

I know this was posted a long time ago but I just wanted to say what a lovely story this is.

Equating spitting at a cop with the sadistic multiple murders of complete strangers?

Jesus wept...

I met Ted Danson. I sat on a park bench with him and gave him a fag. I thought he was a bald tramp but he was very nice.

Will you please stop laboriously assuring us you're better than other people? It's boring.

Gary Glitter in an antique shop in Tetbury or some place near. My parents had been to an auction nearby and i actually got his autograph on the auction catalogue. Still have it some where but not in a rush to find it, don't think it has any value. This was over 20 years ago, he was fine and polite. I was quite young and was thankfully not left alone with him

I had a brew with Fred 'The Weatherman' Talbot about 13 years ago and he was very friendly and encouraging. He even did a couple of pieces to camera for my college media project. Had no idea he was gay at the time.

Also met Johnny Vegas trying to get cigarettes out of a machine at the Hilton on the Isle of Man. Hilarious.

A friend of mine met Jedward last week while attending the X Factor auditions and, although she isn't a fan, said they were lovely and polite and took the time to chat with everyone, sign autographs, pose for photos, etc.

Spoke to the Crossroads actor Tony Adams (Adam Chance) on the phone and he was a real gent, really polite and down to earth.

I am sure there is not a celeb on the planet that someone on here cannot claim to have had a bad experience with. However, there are a couple about whom we are struggling to find anyone who has anything nice to say about them, including people who have worked with them.”

It's not just bad days - a former friend of mine (we fell out for reasons other than this) once followed me around a shop for about ten minutes and being in a total world of my own I failed to notice them - I'm sure I've inadvertantly blanked a few people I know in my time, as on occasion my head sails into the clouds and someone could be murdered next to me and I wouldn't notice.

It's folly and arrogance to assume that everyone is like you but I think in some cases if a celeb is being rushed through a crowd to and from a venue or is geuninely busy doing something else other than meeting and greeting it is not beyond the realms of possiblity that they just didn't notice the fan trying to catch their attention cf. the Eneminen song "Stan" where he does it to the eponymous character and the eponymous character reads it as blanking when he simply failed to notice him. I am particularly willing to give the benefit of the doubt to celebs who are generally regarded as nice who 'blank' the odd person - David Tennant springs particularly to mind but I'm sure there are others.

Billy Bragg is lovely.

A friend of mine met Dave Lee Roth. I admit to thinking that he might have been arrogant and full of himself, but she said that he was great. Very friendly, clever and funny. She said he was really hyper as well.

She's met others as well - James Taylor was lovely apparently.

I met Danny O'Donoghue, when he was busking with Bo Bruce, for The Voice. They were both lovely. Danny was really nice and funny, and wouldn't leave until he met a lot of fans. Really humble guy.

Yup, top bloke.

Lindsey Coulson (Carole EE) very pleasant, met her in passing a few times as she lives near me and we've passed the time of day, very nice, sweet, and teeny tiny, and doesn't show any annoyance when people refer to her as Carole, as I've seen happen a few times.

I saw Dean Sullivan doing his shopping in Liverpool once. He was a very smart man who carried an umbrella in an old-fashioned, gentlemanly way. He was talking quite loudly but seemed OK.

I thought Fred was with former sports presenter Elton Welsby? The latter is now divorced but is still friends with his ex-wife, and, apparently out of the closet now.

I once met Russell T Davies in M&S - lovely bloke, had to look up at him because he's so tall but he was great to talk to.
