I was 5 and mum and I were staying in Blackpool for the weekend. We had ventured out for some chips and it was freezing cold. Mum got very excited at seeing a really glam lady in a huge white fur coat getting out of a Rolls Royce. She went over to her and they were chatting away while I stood there shivering with my chips. The glamorous lady looked at me, smiled and opened her fur coat, cuddled me to her and wrapped me up all warm. I cuddled up to the wondrous Diana Dors for about ten minutes and probably got chip fat on her fur coat too. Fabulous woman!

mariah loves her fans and will sign for hours her secuirty team are known to be nasty and pull her away.
I think deep down she's a nice person but she's been famous since she was 19 and has never known not being famous as an adult which is why she is so controlled by some people.
I know someone who went to a signing in 2008 when she was promoting E=mc2 album and a security guard made this fan cry very sad mariah wanted to stay but wasn't allowed.

My favourite celeb story for some time. I imagine Cilla wouldve done the same mind you.

My brother in law met Colin Montgomerie at St Andrews and Monty told him to p!"£ off. Charming, same as Noel Edmonds has a reputation for not speaking to autograph hunters.

Gorgeous story, always thought she was a cool lady, old school glamour with warmth thrown it. FABULOUS

I have met Abi Titmuss in 2005 and she was really charming and signed photos for the hotel staff.

I've been in the audience too and he couldn't have been nicer. He could've just buggered off back to this dressing room but decided to sit and chat with my mates (I was hiding up in the rafters!) and they were thrilled.

I love this story And I'm not surprised by it - Diana Dors always seemed a very warm and lovely person.

I love the Diana Dors stoory. Good God, but I miss that old school celebrity glamour and class. It's pretty much lost forever now.

As an audience member of DOND we witnessed the cult of Noel, the warm up guy was like a TV evangelist, geeing up the crowd, talking about positive thoughts for Noel.

Then Edmonds appears on set, acting like the messiah speaking to the audience telling us to channel good energy to the contestant, the guy is a freakin nut job.

I was front of the barrier @ The Stone Roses concert on Saturday, at the bit which seperates the front section & main bit so all the VIP's/Celebs walked past to watch the bands. John Bishop walked past 4 times & was shaking everyones hands each time, The Magician Dynamo did the same. Chris Moyles though ignored everyone.

She was having trouble getting out of a car once. My Granddad was passing by and helped her out. She gave him a big kiss

Chris Moyles is one of those people who only liked hanging around with celebrities though isn't he? I think he's impressed with them and hopes one of these days he'll be one himself.

Tell you who is nice - Jeremy Paxman. No airs nor graces. Handsome (in the flesh), nice AND intelligent. Three attributes Chris Moyles will never have.

A truly nice DJ was John Peel (met him once when he was doing a gig at Leeds Polytechnic in the early 80's. He held the door open for me and said hello (I had a hangover and looked like a bag of spanners at the time too - else I would have started a conversation). Peel was a really nice bloke - although I must admit I wasn't over keen on all his music choices!

Ian Paice (Deep Purple/Paice Ashton Lord) was nice too! Was on a pub quiz machine with him in Henley! He lost us a tenner mind (and back in the 90's a tenner was a fortune for a quiz machine) - but he was still nice.

I wonder if maybe they are told to do so? It looks a lot better if they are seen to want to stay with their fans but their big, mean security team pull them away.
Just a thought.

Yeah, I get what you mean. The celebrities make on they want to stay with their fans, but then their security follow orders by the celebrity to pull them away from their fans.

I believe this. Ive heard the story of Marian being "pulled away" by security before. Makes her sound a real sweetheart, but wait a min they follow HER orders! Think she'd tolerate being pushed around by her security team??

If true, it sounds a very cowardly and fake thing to do, especially when its their fans who pay their wages.

Hi

You will only know this person if you have small children.....

About 8 months ago I had a friend request on Facebook (the page is in my pubs name) and as usual I accepted it thinking its potential new customers etc.

This person started making positive comments on pictures etc I was posting.

The name of the person wasn't obviously someone famous - but curiosity got the better of me and I went to look at his pictures to see if I recognised him from the pub.

Well I did recognise him - but not from the pub - it was Anthony Field (he's one of The Wiggles - massive kids entertainers from Oz).

My 2 year old is a massive Wiggles fan and he mentioned they were touring the UK soon and would my son like to meet them - would he !!

Then at the beginning of June I got a telephone call from their tour manager the day before we were going to see them in Manchester saying that Anthony asked him to ring me to arrange a meet n greet with all the Wiggles and Captain Feathersword before the show - fantastic!

Imagine meeting your biggest heros and getting a photo with them - now imagine what this is like for a 2 year old - to actually meet these people he has seen on telly - he was amazed - and I am now Super DAD !

The great thing is he still posts on my wall and sends messages etc - one of the top 10 richest people in Australia with no airs and graces and seems genuinely a top bloke.

Anthony Field take a bow - you made my son very very happy - and anybody that does that is ok in my book !

Dave
