Poor Alesha .

I would have though her new single would be much higher in the charts.

It is very catchy .

I didn't really like it, but it's a shame it didn't get higher in the charts. I never thought she was that successful after she went solo, and it seems even Strictly couldn't give her a publicicty boost.

Ouch!

I downloaded it - I think it's very catchy

Oh dear. So much for Bruce's prediction that she will be the new Beyonce. She was a fantastic contestant on SCD, but I don't think she is the singing sensation she has been touted as.

I thought it wasn't even released until the 10th?

It is a poor song IMO but I'm surprised her performance on Strictly didn't help.

It's at number nine on itunes

ETA Also according to itunes it only came out on 1 Nov, so it's a bit premature to say it's failed already!

Thats surprising I thought it would do well. Maybe she waited a bit too long to release after Strictly

I have also noticed a lack of radio airplay which wouldn't help.

Disappointed for Alesha.

This was after 1 day of download sales

So the headline is crap

TRhe download was released on Saturday so that days sales would've counted for yesterdays chart.

So this week as its in the top 10 of itunes should see it go at least top 20

it was only just released yesterday by download. At least wait a week before you presume its a flop.
Number 9 is very good on itunes for a new release.
There is no way it wont make the top 40.

Oh that changes it somewhat. If it was only released on Monday, ignore my previous post. I thought the op was talking about the previous week. I wish people would post "accurate" info to avoid confusion.

84? says who?

It's number 9 on itunes UK. Go and have a look.

the single in number 9 in itunes after one day of being available, that's downloads only.

The cd comes out next week so I have no idea what the original poster is talking about!!

Well it is at number 84 here: http://www.theofficialcharts.com/top40_singles.php

Perhaps we should take that as fairly promising since it's only been out for a day

I'm not saying it has failed. It's just a little disappointing that the song hasn't had a debut at a much more worthy position.

That's yesterdays chart.

Was the song some how made available on Saturday? It's official release is today for downloads and cd next week.

84 is bloody fantastic considering its wasn't even out 24 hours for it to chart.

I'm sorry but this thread and its title is just sensationalist nonsense

Oh I got the wrong impression! If it's at number 9, then that's very good going

It was avaliable from about saturday 12 or something like that

The single was released on download on November 1st, so has only been available for a day or so! The CD single release is next week and the album a fortnight later.

Radio 2 have the single on their playlists - A listed and Radio 1 have it B listed, so it will be getting played a lot. Alesha is on GMTV on Wednesday and was on Radio 2 on Dermot O'Leary on Saturday, so I think she is getting some good marketing/exposure.

I'm talking about the single itself. It's a shame the song has had it's debut at #84 alone.

After 24 hours of being avaliable and it still manages to chart... yeah poor debut

Considering only being released for a day I think 84 is great. Next week is the big week where Alesha will probably enter in the top 20 on download sales alone. When it is released on CD it will probably be in the top 5 or 10.

You've missed the point completely.

She will be top 10 on Sunday.

Well, I apologize for posting such a ridiculous thread!

I just though it was a shame that the song has only reached #84!
