I got TBDN and could've sworn it went top 10 for some weeks. Got the Alesha Show for my birthday. I'm hoping she get another top 10 with the next single.

I'm happy to hear that it's getting more popular in Poland .

It seems to be slowly losing popularity here in the UK .

I know this thread hasn't been commented on in a while, but I just wanted to let you know the song seems to be gaining popularity in France as well. I was out dancing on Friday night and it was played 'Twas very cool as it was the "dance night" so everyone was jiving away to it! Only problem was that I was obviousyl the only one excited by this as clearly no-one else would have had a clue who the song was by.

Hi Franglemand! It's doing quite well in France at the moment, as well as other parts of Europe. I just had a look on itunes and this how it's doing:

Main itunes:

France: #5
Sweden: #10
Finland: #5 (highest position: #2)
Switzerland: #3
Norway: #3

Pop itunes:

France: #3
Sweden: #5
Finland: #1
Switzerland: #2
Norway: #3
Netherlands: #7
Spain: #9

It has also been in the top 10 of itunes Greece (#4), Luxembourg (#10), Italy (#8) and Japan (#9), and #8 on Portugal's pop itunes.

The album (The Alesha Show) is released in Europe this week and is already at #10 on France's pop itunes, the same position it's at on the UK's pop itunes. And The Boy Does Nothing EP (?) is at #7 on Norways' pop itunes album chart

Don't know if this is well know but...

Let's Get Excited is pencilled for release on May 11th (yes, that far in the future)

However, it due for release the same week as Lily Allen, a week after Britney and two weeks after Girls Aloud and Pink (not together).

It's also 4 weeks after the singles by Beyonce, Pussy Cat Dolls and Lady Gaga so they probably will all still be hanging round the top 10. (PCD are covering the theme tune to Slumdog Millionaire)

I dont think it matters too much about who shes up against. If people like the song they'll buy it regardless.
I remember people said Alesha wouldnt do well with TBDN as it was released the same week as LEona Lewis Forgive Me, Christina Agulera, Britney - Womaniser and Beyonce - If i Were a boy. Alesha has ended up getting more sales with TBDN then any of the songs ive just mentioned (except beyonces - if i were a boy).
Breathe Slow also ended up selling more copies then Girls ALoud and Pinks second singles (sober and loving kind) so i dont always think its a case of bigger names sell more singles!

With downloads representing more than 90% of sales, it'll be interesting to see how relevant "official release dates" continue to be for any singles after the first one off an album. Nowadays the release date seems to serve as a guide for radio stations as they can move the song in question up the playlist until the release week, and if it hasn't made an impression by then they can drop said song.

Poker Face is at number one at the moment and I'm sure its official release date is next monday. Alesha's singles get excellent airplay and video play and while that's great for exposure, it means a lot of her sales happen long before the official release dates. For e.g. Let's Get Excited has already sold a fair few copies (thanks to Let's Dance) and it hasn't even been playlisted...
