Cherie Lunghi isn't THAT good a dancer.
I admit her ballroom dances are good but not the best I've ever seen and she can't really dance latin to save her life. Also judging by the footage after the show last week she doesn't seem to be able to cope with not coming top.
What does everyone think. I don't want a big argument please!!....

There's already a hot thread on this.

Cherie vastly overrated blah blah....

Could you just merge with that one?

This is not getting at you or anything, but there is already a thread on this topic:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...=924711&page=4

And I kind of want to warn you that any discussion of Cherie does normally end up in a big argument!

I would like to (nicely!) point out that there are already plenty of "Cherie isn't actually that great" threads on the board, do we need a new one? Lively discussion to be found here for a start: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=924711 and if you do a search for her name you will find more discussion, arguments and opinions than you can shake a stick at.

As for not wanting an argument, I'm afraid with the Cherie supporters and the Cherie bashers being two quite outspoken groups you're liable to get one whether you like it or not.

At the rate this is going (I loathe Cherie threads popping up like mushrooms), perhaps we should ask the moderator to move ALL these threads into a sub-forum.

If you don't want a big argument, then don't start a thread like this!!
You are obviously longing to stir up a lot of bad feeling.

Is there an I loathe Cherie thread - can't say I've seen one; probably because loathing Cherie and considering her to benefit from preferential treatment are two very different things.

Cherie has had one poor dance so far.

But haven't most of the celeberities?

Her Paso would actually have been fantastic (judging by the midweek training during which she was receiving rave reviews for it), had she not messed up the initial step.

Let's not write her off just yet.

I agree with that. One bad dance is really all she has had. They've all had one that doesn't suit them.

I've rewatched her Paso a lot since the other weekend and aside from the slip it was fab IMO

Okay, maybe loathing is not exactly an appropriate word. But you MUST surely agree we have one too many threads criticising on all aspects Cherie (her age her being 'slow', getting preferential treatment etc..) and perhaps it's better we just group them altogether into a sub-forum. Because frankly speaking, at the rate it is going, it's getting extremely wearisome.

Don't get me wrong. I am all for discussing/criticising a celeb and her dance etc., but too many of a same thing is just tedious to say the least.

Aha, is the Brendan problem spreading (multiple nasty threads). I rather like Cherie actually, and she is deffo entitled to her off days. Still free speech and all that - just don't get personal and I'm sure no one will be offended

Funny how "I'm sorry but..." tends to mean "I'm going to annoy people but I couldn't care less I'm going to say it anyway"
... and shouldn't a thread title actually give people an idea what the thread is about so they can decide whether they are interested in the subject matter.

Never apologise for your opinion - it is extremely irritating when someone starts a sentence saying they are sorry and you know they aren't sorry about anything.

You are entitled to think that Cherie isn't that great a dancer. She doesn't think she is that great but she does have potential and apart from her last dance, she has done pretty well.

Did I say you didn't have the right to do so?! No!

Exercise away. My post was a response to the OP ... we have heard all this stuff over and over it's a bit old hat now.

It's clear that unless Cherie raises her game in the latin, she'll not be long for the competition - which is fair enough. In the meantime, however, anything could happen ...

And if she is getting "preferental treatment", she certainly isn't the only one ...

I like Cherie but I completely agree, she can't really do anything other than ballroom.

I was responding to your yawning smilies.

I haven't seen all these alleged Cherie bashing threads her supporters speak of, (I've posted in this one and the (overrated one) - however I will take their word for it that they are sufficient in number to get fed up - but others have suffered more severely than Cherie.

imo she does get preferential treatment - but as you say, she's not the only one.

That's inaccurate to say the least. Her rumba was very good (okay, slow dance, poise important, was always going to suit her) and her paso was above average even though it was probably overmarked on the night (comparably to the other pasos). She's done one fast, fun Latin so far and - yes - it was a bit of a flop by her standards. I am somewhat fearful of similar Latin dances later on but I'll still wait for the evidence before I judge. I thought Cherie looked pretty good in the girls' group swing so she may surprise us yet.
