Tom out of Strictly?
Oh no! Holby City star Tom Chambers may not be in Saturday’s starting line-up for Strictly Come Dancing, after smashing into a wall during rehearsals for the show. Poor Tom was dancing away with partner Camilla Dallerup when the accident happened, and it was all caused by a pair of too-long trousers. Camilla tripped on Tom’s dancing pants and the pair fell into the wall, with Tom taking the full force of the collision. Ouch. A source says, “He was left in terrible pain and his first thought was that he had dislocated his shoulder. He decided to sleep on it but by the morning, it was clear the pain wasn’t going to go away and he had to get it checked out.” Get well soon Tom!

Oh, I hope he's okay! Sometimes there are mid-week panics, but it usually turns out all right in the end.

They deffo talked about this accident last night on ITT. Tom showed us his cuts/bruises and Camilla said he stopped her careening into the wall and probably saved her from hurting herself badly.

Unless he work up on Tuesday and the bruise was worse? Not sure what day he injured himself was it on MOnday before ITT or on Sunday?

It looks like the same accident they talked about on ITT, with an added drama, plus notice the question mark. They do that, ask some dramatic question and the answer is usually no.

Rehearsal footage is tonight. This is a non-story.

Do you think if he'd hit the wall it would have improved his expression while dancing?

I don't care if someone breaks both legs in training, send them out on crutches, anything to avoid another 'give them 5120 dances to do to fill the time' final.

AK, is that you?

I hope there is no two-persons finals yet again!

Who knows, what if Austin's old injuries flared up so bad he wasn't able to literally stand in the coming weeks?

*tries to banish such thoughts from mind*

I'm not wishing injury on anyone, but seriously, another two person final and I'll scream.

And if Austin can't stand I'm sure Erin can incorporate a wheelchair into their routine

I don't think you wish anyone harm. It's just that you wrote thoughts that I had in my mind, but have absolutely no courage to write it out publicly.

Are you a mind reader?

Anyway, NO NO NOOOOO to two-person final!!!

edit: Didn't Brian the pro specialise in wheelchair ballroom? Maybe Erin (or any pro with a badly injured celeb) can ask him for help with the choreography?

Hear Hear! I'm still waiting for the time that two contestants have to drop out due to injury, and we have a one person final, with some poor sod having just a week to learn 17 dances.....

She even has an expert on wheelchair dancing at hand - Brian Fortuna - to call in for help with the routine.

Tom did mention this injury on ITT, and although Camilla said it happened because he hit the wall to prevent her taking a header ('cos of their speed, quickstep accidents are nasty!) & Tom did show the bruises, said admitted it hurt, he didn't make too much of it & certainly never said anything about not being in the show on Saturday - think that could be something hyped up by the press.

If he - or anyone else - did have to pull out, why can't they do what they did in dwts and have a week where they announce who would have left, but then let them stay in. Two couple finals are boring - and as already mentioned - what will they do if someone else gets injured?

They won't - we have been in this situation for the past two years, and had the same discussions/proposals to no avail. Two in the final on both occasions.

depends how bad an injury is. Wasn't Kate given a weeks grace and didn't dance and automatically made it to the next week?

I guess Kelly wasn't up to returning even if she was given a week's grace.

I think Kate only missed the girls first group dance, not a competative dance. Kelly had decided to withdraw before the Saturday after her father's death, so I don't know if they would have given her a week's grace, although I imagine they would have if she'd wanted to continue.

You'll find almost everything about SCD in the media on this thread here - it is post #4886 at 6.43 am.

Didn't Jodie have trouble with her rib a week or so ago?
