Hello all!

I am currently looking for a decent iPod speaker system, around £80-£100 that will work with the new generation of nanos and be battery powered as well as mains and have a remote control.

I've been into Currys as they allow you to plug in your own iPod and test out the sound but numerous ones I've found and tried show up as "not compatible" on the iPod's screen.

Now, I'm presuming that this compatibility issue is around charging the iPod, which is something I would like the speakers to do.

does anyone have any suggestions of speakers that will definitely work with the nano to charge it, be battery powered (and reasonably slim so the'll fit nicely in a suitcase), decent sound and a remote control?

I don't want to buy one in case it turns out to be duff and the reviews and descriptions you get on places like Amazon are sometimes unclear and/or contradictory.

Thanks

I don't think its gonna happen. 142 views and no response yet!

It'll be a costly mistake if I just go out and buy one!

We have a Bose SoundDock thing, but at £200+ it is a bit expensive.

The Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 seems pretty good and is almost half the price of the Bose and from the sounds of it is just as good. It is battery powered, has a remote, has a good sound and has FM Radio and will fit all current and previous generation iPods including the Touch (not sure about the iPhone or iPhone 3G). Here is a review from CNET http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-player-a...in;contentBody

Looking on PC World it looks like it is around £120. Shop around though and you should find somewhere cheaper. If you can try going into PC World, Curry's or even better the Apple Store as they usually have lots of different examples, especially in the Apple Store, but it depends on where you live, I think their are one or two Apple Stores in Manchester though
