Looking into the future, what do you think the show will look like in 10 years time? how will it have changed, if at all?
Will Tess be able to say 'come dancing' intead of 'coom dancen' ?

I think the show will have died long before then, I don't see it lasting that much longer.

Sorry for getting overly PC again, but there's nothing wrong with Tess' accent. Not everyone is from London!

I don't see it lasting anymore that 8 series. I think people are already starting to lose interest. A lot of my friends were really obsessed with it around series 4 sort of time. I think it's a case of been there, done that now. I still love it but there's nothing fresh about it anymore.

I agree about eight series, the BBC will keep going with it whilst the ratings are so good, but I don't think they can attract viewers indefinitely. I definitely don't think it's as good as it was three or four years ago.

Yep Tess will be wheeling him on set, which means she wouldn't be able to wow us with her opening moves

If the BBC carry on adding celebs and pros, Series 17 will last the whole year round!

Arlene will need botox

Bruno will be in a home

Len will be saying " I am doddery, doddery I am" he'll not have the strength to raise his paddles

Craig will watch all the dances through a magnifying glass so he can comment on lack of heel leads, line, spine position..whatever

Well said. But you'd think they were judging by what the BBC usually dish up.

And I'm one of the ones that didn't watch it 3 years ago but loves it now, this series is my favourite. I probably watched 2 episodes of series 1, 3 of series 2, 3 of series 3, 2 of series 4 and all of last year. I do realise I'm probably in the minority though.

I think they will maybe need to freshen it up soon, so new judges, new presenters, maybe some new pros and dances, definitely a new studio with more seats for the public so the atmosphere is better. That's the real problem with SCD, there are too many celebs in the crowd and so they are obviously above having to show any enthusiasm, this transmits down our televisions and can make the show seem quite flat.

Or thick incoherent meatheads stuffing jellied eels down their necks?

Well, maybe the show will lose its old viewers and attract new ones, rather than disappearing completely!

It's not that I don't enjoy the show, but sometimes when I see a celeb on it I like I kind of wish they'd been on a few years ago when the show was a lot more fun.

We've got a few yet then!

I think they need to start getting more inventive with their celebs. I thought Mark Foster was an inspired choice, but he had no rhythm. They need to stop going for soap characters and maybe start going for less well known celebs, but ones that can actually vaguely dance, or at least have the potential.

I think Jodie was an inspired pick, Austin is obviously a good sportsman, but there have to be sports outside of rugby and cricket. How about a female sports star? Denise Lewis can't be the only one. How about Karen Pickering, the swimmer? Or Rebecca Romero, the cyclist? I don't think she knows if she wants to continue cycling.

I want to see Patrick Stewart do it (Jean Luc Piccard from Star Trek TNG), he won't because he's at the RSC, but I can dream.

I agree that a lot of those who watched series 1 will probably be losing interest (unless they happen to be hooked on dancing), but this is the sort of show that attracts new viewers each time. My neighbours' youngest were too young to watch previous years, but this year they are well 'into it'. In other words, as one lot of viewers drift away, another lot get hooked!
