I never thought I'd say that, as he is ever ready, the most hyper dog to have ever graced this planet!

But since Bonfire night, as soon as darkness comes, (around 4ish) he will not budge from bed!

The fireworks have really spooked him this year.

He's too heavy to budge and as soon as morning comes he'll be as mad as ever but I think he should get a walk this eve also!

Any other dogs still a little wary of the dark or any banging noises since 5th November? Or has mine just gotten lazy!

Poor animal is terrified. Get something from the vet for it or give it a can of beer

My poor staff has got like that, I get it every year, as the clocks change and the first stray bangers go off, he spends his evenings watchign the window, ready to get in a state over the damn things.
He is certainly less than keen to go out at night, so I dont force him, Ill walk him in daylight, but if he does not want to go out in the dark, thats his choice, so we just bug out in front of the TV lol. He is an idle little git though, a typical Staff, has an on off switch, more than happy to sleep on your lap, but ask him to go nutso and thats what he does!

Well it is nice not going out in the freezing cold I won't deny! Perhaps he feels the same! But I do feel a little guilty for him not having a walk.
Like you say, we can't force them and I'm sure if he needs to he'll be the first to let me know!
Quite out of character though.

Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for lol!
Mine is such a faffer, if its raining and I look like I might take him out in it, I get a look that would burn you in hell for my troubles lol!
We have an understanding, he goes for walks when i feel like it but only if HE feels like it lol!
To think people think Staffs are rufty tufty hyperactive beasts !!

My little dog is the same, since the bangers started, he won't go out for his nightime walk.

He asks to go and gets all excited while we put his lead on, but as soon as we open the door, he refuses to go outside

I've started taking him at about 3.30, so he can at least stretch his legs and go to the toilet.

My last collie used to be the same. As soon as he heard his first firework he'd become very reluctant to go out after dark, because he associated it with scary noises. We don't have a garden either so he had to get out at some point to pee! I ended up having to take him out as much as possible during the day then stay up till after midnight in the hopes all would be quiet by then and I could persuade him to go .

Barney our new dog is fine at the moment and doesn't even seem to notice fireworks.We've been playing firework video's on You-Tube since we got him in January to get him used to them.
I've been taking him out to the park while they're going off too and playing football with him (on lead in case he gets spooked) so he understands there's noting to be scared of. He's so obsessed with his ball I don't think he's even aware of them.

I'm surprised he's doing so well because he's a typical collie and quite neurotic about certain things, but luckily loud noises don't seem to be one of them.

When I was a child, we had two dogs (at the same time), one of whom loved walks, the other of which was agoraphobic and refused, throughout her whole life, to go for walks. She just used to run round the garden for exercise. But she lived to be fifteen so it can't have done her too much harm.

Oh poor thing! He'll tell you when he's ready to go back out. I wouldn't force the issue with him though. My dog too has a hard time around this time of year with the fireworks and initially was absolutely terrified. She used to cower and shake all over. The vet told us not to acknowledge her fear at all. Seemingly the worst thing to do is to go and console her when she's like that as it just re enforces her fear. Hard as it was to do, we did ignore it and this year she's so much better! Now she barks back at the fireworks!
