Loving Lacey and Lance
Their rumba tonight was absolutely fabulous.
I have no idea what Len's issue is with them, other than him being too old to judge anything contemporary. Bruno and Carrie Ann seemed to enjoy it as much as I did though. They're saving the show for me. I did love Warren too, but he's getting worse rather than better. |

Having a bench is the middle of the dancefloor is a bit OTT even by DWTS standards. I like their work usually but this was a little to precious.

And as for the bench ... that was straight out of Do You Think You Can Dance..... nothing to do with rumba. Len is a ballroom/latin judge pure and simple. He doesn't like gimmicks or props, and not wearing shoes was nothing more than that - an unnecessary gimmick. He is right to voice his objections otherwise goodness knows where gimmicks and props will lead .... circus clowns and tightropes and the like next perhaps? Lacey needs to remember what show she is in, and the purpose she is in it, and stop just trying to please herself. Last edited by kaycee : 08-11-2008 at 00:21. Reason: typo |

Lacey is a right little madam!
Yes, she's a very talented dancer, but I also think she's forgetting what show she is in. A bench in a ballroom show? Sorry, no. I love contemporary and lyrical dancing, but there's a time and a place

Well I loved that routine.
It was well thought out. The 'bare feet' and 'bench' totally worked with that great John Mayer song. They told a story which I felt and believed. I haven't a clue what Len's problem is this season (in Britain as well as in the US). He's moody and downright mean and irratic. I have a feeling he doesn't care for Lance & Lacey too much. Well I hope they go all the way and win this thing. |

I loved how Lacey told Lance off during the VT! Whether he deserved it or not, it was just hilarious to see a celebrity getting told off.

Im totally not 'getting' Lance and Lacey this season.
For me, this Rumba lacked any sense of romance or sexiness -not sure what they were going for. Totally agree with all of Kaycee's points re the latin shoes etc. I can understand why others may have enjoyed it though - but I just love big Warren!

She needs to get her act together - we all know she is a great dancer, but she appears a very selfish one, more concerned with showing herself off, instead of her celeb partner. |

Lacey was a winner of So You Think You Can Dance wasn't she? Rather than being a ballroom pro?
I love some of their dances but she's being too "unique" and it's hurting Lance's chances of winning. They can be original, but like Carrie Ann told her, she needs to remember she's showcasing Lance and not herself. She seems quite a selfish and moody character too. It seems to be all about her, not about Lance. If you contrast that with Julianne, who I don't really like, but she's fantastic at choreographing breathtaking, original routines but within the boundaries of a "traditional ballroom" performance. Lacey needs to realise she's not 12, rebelling against her dad by sneaking out of the house. The judges are trying to tell her something, but she's not listening. She also needs to realise that the show is aimed at a wide audience and not hip, young Broadway show producers, she has to aim her routines at 55 year olds, as well as 19 year olds. She's wasting Lance's talent imo and this comes from someone who loves them!

Oh ok! So how the hell did she get this gig?
![]() After So You Think she turned professional. Maybe those who run dwts thought she would be a popular addition, as more non-dancers and viewers would recognise her than they would a more established ballroom pro. |

I agree the routine was well thought out, and worked well with the song - but the dance was meant to be a rumba, not a contemporary or lyrical.
Len's problem with Lacey is that she seems to forget what program she is in. She needs to get her act together - we all know she is a great dancer, but she appears a very selfish one, more concerned with showing herself off, instead of her celeb partner. ![]() Haven't seen their routines from yesterday yet. I know they did a foxtrot and a samba (with a solo part for Lance). But my guess they've again been slated by Len and subsequently under marked. I'll watch the whole thing this weekend (on harddisk DVD) just hope they're not outsted tonight ![]() I guess there is some truth in Lacey being self involved and a bit bitchy, but hey she also comes good with daring and exciting dance routines that make Lance shine also. As a couple I think they do complement one another and I don't think Lance minds being bossed around somewhat. I think Lacey, as the new pro, brings just a breath of fresh air to the show and with characters like Boring Brooke (who always gets overmarked) and Frantic Maurice (who just appears wooden in the ballroom) Lancey makes it fun to watch ![]() ![]() I pray Lancey survive tonights elimination

They just get better and better.
As much as I like Warren his dancing isn't getting any better now. He peaked with the paso. |
