Videologic Digitheatre or Scan AV-6

Hi, I am considering buying a surround sound kit for my bedroom and I am on a fairly tight budget. The two kits I have mentioned are possibilities, I would go for a Sony HTK-215 but my DVD player has no optical out so it's not possible without a lot of messing around. Can anyone tell me how these two systems sound, the digitheatre is supposed to be better but the scan has DTS. I am aware that Videologic make a DTS model but for my purpose its a bit pricey. The kit will be set up in a very small room(about 8ft wide) so power isn't as much of an issue. Can anyone give me their personal opinion(s) of the systems. All input will be appreciated.

Thanks

Can't speak for the Scan, but the Videologic Digitheatre does sound pretty good. Not the best sound ever, but for the money it does sound good.

And it is CERTAINLY powerful enough unless you have VERY understanding neighbours

FWIW though, the Digitheatre DTS does sound considerably better, more refined, in all honesty most lovely.

Reviews of both DTS and normal flavours of the Digitheatre are available at

and

Hope this helps,
Mark
