Gwion was great, soooo cute! The boy who played the Artful Dodger was fantastic! Jodie wasn't bad either. Really can't wait to see Oliver now...

Aw i enjoyed that even if Gwions accent is still really obvious. Maybe it would have been better to keep him welsh rather than try to get rid of it and fail miserably.

I would also have liked to have seen Jodie singing Oom Pah Pah or As Long as he Needs Me
Me too!

It was like 'spot the face you've seen before' with all those boys on stage LOL!

lol I loved it!
Gwions changed so much tho, bless him!
I too was overwhelmed by the amount of kids on stage, couldn't tell who was who tho.
Only Ollies I spotted were Gwion, Alexander and Jordan. I don't think Kway's in the production sadly. Anyone spotted anyone else? lol

Loved that tonight. Jodie and Gwion were great but the boy playing the Artful Dodger stole the show. A real find imo.

Thought Gwion was a bit school play standard, Jodie did a decent job but the Artful Dodger was very good.

Jonny's there in Food Glorious Food too! Early on he's at the bench on the right hand side, at the back on the inside row. At the very end he's standing on the middle table and he's on the right but you get a clear look at him over Gwion's shoulder when he sings 'beautiful food' solo near the end. He and Alex manage to look so clean and angelic as scruffy urchins!

Would have preferred to see Harry or Laurence but Gwion is growing on me. He seems to be trying to mask his accent. Thought Dodger (Robert?!) was absolutely brilliant and that Jodie did really well. Hopefully they'll be cropping up on lots of TV shows soon.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing, really. The boys' singing was flat in a lot of places (not what I would expect of a West End cast), Gwion was disappointing as Oliver and Jodie wasn't given enough to do to really make any judgement on her performance. Why they didn't get her to sing one of Nancy's songs (and maybe cut Food Glorious Food to make room for it), I don't know.

Actually thinking back on it, I thought they might have used Harry, Laurence and Gwion together. So Gwion may have done Food Glorious Food, Laurence may have done Where is Love? and Harry might have done the other parts. It would have been better that way seeing how all three boys have grown.
I saw Jonny too! It took about three watches of the thing but I saw him lol
I hope the original IDA boys get to do more scenes in the show cos if Alex and Jonny are just workhouse boys they are only in at the beginning. it'd be good if they were in Fagins gang too.

Gwion is still the least favoured by me of the three Oliver's. I prefer Harry and Laurence. Gwion seems to have entranced Cameron though. He definitely had a job to keep up with the scene stealing Artful Dodger last night.

I must say I agree with most of that, except that I felt Jodie did have enough to do and was rather found wanting. She didn't do anything bad acting and singing wise, she was just extremely ordinary, but most worrying was that she just lacked any stage presence whatsoever. Even though she was scrubbed whiter than white and lit up and the others on the stage were made up grimy and were in the shadows she still didn't stand out. On the other hand the older girl in the scene who only had to sing about one line stood out like a beacon on stage.

Give them a chance - they've only just started rehearsing and still have a month to go. AND they're only kids! Give them a break!

They were on prime-time TV promoting a West End show! I was expecting decent peformances (which Bet, Dodger and Jodie/Nancy delivered), not 'school play' standard performances! Given the extortionate price of tickets for the show, they should be working to the highest standards. I would also add that rehearsals proper may have only just started, but they will have been learning the songs for a while - and they shouldn't be singing flat by this stage in the rehearsal process.

I still wish Chester had been picked. And Jonny.

Not taking anything anything away from the other boys though as the 3 of them are great. The Dodger was also brilliant.
