Yes. If the judges just smiled, said generous things and then gave low votes with a 'sorry, but...' they'd get rid of dancers like John a show or two earlier, but instead they blame people like him for being popular and get vindictive. Similarly, someone like Cherie would probably have far more fans if she didn't get such an easy ride. It's not her fault, nor is it John's.

I definitely heard him say it tonight at the beginning of the show. That's why I remembered him saying it. Believe me, I'm the wrong side of 45 to remember what he said in last week's show!!!

Your theory is not borne out by DWTS where rarely even the worst dance gets very severe comments but the people keep people in because, without the judges being clear, then they have nothing to judge against and someone like Susan Lucci (who is appallingly bad) stays in while Chloris Leachman (she was 82 you know - sorry in joke) stayed despite mild hints from the judges because the public enjoyed her (just like John).

No doubt there will be idiots still voting for him. Small-minded people who feel powerful by voting for rubbish because that's the only power they have in their pitiful little lives.

imo all of the other couples are more entertaining as well as better.”

Well this post just made me vote for him again

They will never learn and their favourtism is starting to piss me off.”

Not to rake up two year old arguments or anything, but the dance-off didn't skew anything in favour of Emma. There was no mathematical way that a bottom two of Emma and Louisa without a dance-off would have resulted in Emma leaving. If anything it gave Louisa a second chance, and resetting the public vote made it highly unlikely that Emma would be saved. I really didn't like Emma but she did her best dance of the series that night and I'm guessing that's how she managed to score more votes than Louisa.

Thanks Pammi, being such a small minded idiot I had totally forgotten to vote! So now I can sit here with my finger on the redial button until the lines close.

May I suggest that you should show some courtesy to forum members on here? I don't take kindly to being called a small minded idiot.

Hello,

I'm one of the people you've just called a small minded idiot who can only excerise power in my pitiful little life by voting for rubbish.

Interesting that you've never met me, but you're quite happy to throw that level of abuse around. If you took a few minutes to talk to to me you'd learn that I'm not an idiot, or small minded, I have quite a happy life and don't see occasionally voting for John and Kristina as trying to excerise power over the nation.

What I am is a person that appreciates the hard work John and Kristina put in, and the fact they raise a smile.

If you're really going to get this angry about people making their own choices about who they want to vote for, you're showing yourself to be the idiot, small minded power struggler you've just accused the rest of us of being.

Take a look in the mirror before posting... assuming you haven't cracked it.

The thing with keeping in John now is that the novelty has worn off - he is looking more and more silly. Get rid for heavens sake - if one of the good dancers were to leave because people are voting for him just to be contrary, it would a travesty.

I am neither small minded nor an idiot and take great offence at the implication I could well be - but as a licence payer am entitled to MY OPINION this is primarily an entertainment show (if it were purely a dance competition it would be on a minority channel) I find the lesser able dancers more entertaining than the predictable "good" ones - and quite frankly the BBC obviously view it as an entertainment show - otherwise there would be auditions to find the "best" celeb dancer rather than let people thro who entertain - get over yourself referring to us who like being "entertained as "small minded" as we are not

I don't watch that show, and I wouldn't want to speculate on it and its US viewers. But I think we know enough about how British viewers behave to suspect that the judges have used the wrong tactics.

I would have gone at lot further than that but moderators don't like people criticising other members. This is just a flame thread - perhaps Pammi_i is one of the judges in disguise. It must really rock their ego that we don't pander to their every whim. Len sucks!

I think John is doing his best and yes he is a limited dancer. Is that entertainment...maybe for some......not for others. You are never going to please everyone. The moment he is in the dance off he is gone. I feel more sorry for Kristina as I would like to see what she can really do with a competent studenet, it must be very frustrating for her. But hey she gets paid if she turns up with a chimp. So hey easy money. Cant say the choreography is that difficult, but the more the judges pick on him verbally the more he will get the sympathy/entertainment vote.
If the judges just kept it to professional comments on his performance then he might not get the sympathy vote, as per Kate did last year.
Judges just never learn.

Well if that is John's opinion, I would be inclined to agree with him. Entertainment is what people tend to want to see on Saturday night TV! I'm not saying John should be in the final, but I love to watch him! Blue Robot I'm with you... raise a smile they certainly do A lovely couple in my eyes.

Well Pammi_i you seem to have upset a few people who find JS "entertaining" - but basically I think you are quite right in what you say, other than your somewhat undiplomatic third paragraph.

He does give the appearance of being smug and self-satisfied and has openly stated that "his public will keep him in the show". Much like Parker, in series one, was kept afloat by his EastEnder fans, thus RUINING the final with Natasha and Brendan. It was a foregone conclusion that Natasha would wipe the floor with Parker but it caused a decent dancer to get knocked out before the final. This cannot, hopefully, happen again!

JS must depart tonight. If he does not end up in the final two it will be a travesty. He is totally useless; far WORSE than Parker in series 1, and that is saying something!

Thats pretty much how I feel. He was sweet to watch at first but now we're further into the competition I think its unfair to eliminate the ones who have really tried hard & put in the hours of training, over him.

Exactly this. Of course, I'll be sad to lose the lovely Kristina but he's had his day. For the huge fans - I'm sure he'll get plenty of post-elimination media coverage, so he won't be completely missed. He's well and truly in the public eye right now.
