There should not be any more after tonight. Fireworks were from November 1st-8th. As the main event was on a Wednesday, displays were on the two nearest Saturdays.

Aww! Lots of fireworks here too. I guess it's because it's the weekend following the 5th and families with kids are more likely to go to displays on weekends.

It's been the same here. We had loads going off on the 5th but apart from that just the odd one here and there. It's the quietest I've ever known it which is typical really, since my firework-phobic dog died just after bonfire night last year. I still bothers me that his last few days were spent being terrified. (nothing to do with why he died, I'd better add)

One shop in town was selling big boxes half price today. I think you're right Ms Walker. People seem to stock up at this time of year for birthdays or any other celebrations they can think of from now until New Years Eve.

You are right there. I live close to a hotel that does wedding receptions. Another firework opportunity

The first political party to have the balls to say they would stop manufacturers selling fireworks to the general public would get my vote,no question,i don't care who they are or what else they stand for.

And me - but they won't because everyone will bleat that it will lose jobs.

I wouldn't mind if fireworks were the nice colourful fireworks of my childhood.

Now they're just white flashes and loud bangs. I can't see the point in them at all.

Fireworks aren't illegal, and people can use them any time of the year they choose.

You chose to keep a pet, so deal with it.

Yes I do have animals.

Try the DAP devices recommended on the pets and fireworks thread. Worth a go, made a huge difference to my dog's stress levels.

it was the 11th yesterday and we still have people firing fireworks where we live. I just want to go and shoot them.

I feel like we have been under house arrest for 3 weeks now, due to not being able to leave dog alone, as poor thing get so scared.
We had planned to go out tonight, but have now cancelled as we don't want to leave the dog in case of more fireworks.

The government should seriously impose laws on fireworks and when they should be allowed.

A friend of mine had to put her beloved dog down last christmas because it got so freaked out by the constant fireworks and never recovered.

We had them last night here, the usual crowd of hooligans throwing them at each other, other kids. One dog couldn't give a flying monkeys about fireworks, the other is now scared of going out at night

Precisely, that's why some of us are saying we would vote for a party that would make it illegal to sell to the public and only allow organised displays. It's not only animals / owners that are bothered. Surely you've seen the stories about fireworks being pushed through letter boxes? It's just too easy for r5oles to get hold of them.

Cant see it effecting many UK jobs. Aren't they all made in China now?

Ther'd just be a few retailers missing out on some quick / easy profits selling them to teenage terrorists. I have a furniture shop near me who sells fireworks for Guy Fawkes and new year. I wonder if thier insurance company know

Except 99% of the fireworks being used since the 5th are by the hooligans - in public spaces - which is illegal
