What to do?

I have a Nokia 6120 on 3 which I can upgrade with them in January.

My wife has a Sony Erricson z610i which she hates in which she can upgrade in June next year!

What would you say is the best option so that we are both happy? My suggestion was for her to have my Nokia, and then I would sell the z610i and get a phone to last me until Jan - HOWEVER, Don't you have to be careful to get a 3 compatible mobile? And I also heard 3 don't give you much option at the upgrade stage?

Thanks in advance.

I do have o2 broadband. Thing is, I don't really wanna pay more than £15 a mth for a mobile so thats why I am with 3 - they are actually ok.

As long as you can get 3g compatible phone and its unlocked, then it will happily work with THREE...

I pay £15 per month for my o2 phone.

(I got stroppy with them last time my contract was up, so they gave me 400 mins and 500 texts per month for my £15 )

you wont get a very good phone with 3 on a £15 a month contract but for £15 or £20 a month on orange you can get some very nice phones free you will get the same signal as 3 and better 3g service. http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/yourpl...tionalservices http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/yourpl...tionalservices

There have been reports of Three being unhappy if you use your SIM in any other handset than the one provided with your contract. It states this in the contract, so be prepared in case they try to enforce this. I don't think there would be a problem if you bought a Three handset from a recognised distributor, as Three may ask for proof of purchase. They will not accept a phone bought from eBay, as eBay are not a recognised distributor.

Why they do this is another matter. Its quite a common practice elsewhere in the world, but I don't know of any other network in this country that does this.
