She was one of the favourites...but had an early unexpected exit. What was her downfall?

1. Was it the press about her relationship with the producer who she met at britains got talent auditions?
2. Was it the affected voice...sometimes sounding like a forced amy copy
3. Was it the fake piano playing gimic

For me it was a mix of 1 and 2 -

I was very suspicious of her involvement with the producer and also her voice sounded myuch better when she sang with her natural voice rather than the affected amy one.

Most definitely her very very very poor diction ... so number 2, I suppose in your list.

How anyone would want a CD with that shambles singing on is beyond me. She deserved everything she got.

I think the public assuming the girls were safe? Maybe, so they decided to vote for Rachel and Eoghan instead...

Flabby 'look' that Cowell didn't think he could market would have been her biggest downfall. She was cooked after he decided on that.

To be honest i think it was the fact she was being outshined by others and her lack of stage presence, confidence and 'uniqueness'. In the audition process she was FANTASTIC and you could really see where she was going with her style etc.. but then she kinda got pushed aside by diana and got given all these songs which were sooo not her (i blame the themed nights). I'm not particularly a laura fan but she definately did not deserve to be in the bottom 2 last night (neither did ruth).

She sort of just stands there on stage and doesn't really make the performance memorable or interesting.. and her diction.. especially last night.. was seriously irritating. Its a shame though she seems like a nice girl.

info on relationship with exec producer on x factor - digital spy news :

Laura White has apparently made her relationship with X Factor executive Mathew Firsht public.

The 21-year-old jazz singer reportedly began dating Firsht, 38, when they met at an audition for Britain's Got Talent in March.

The couple were photographed together in Firsht's car and hugging outside White's North London home last night.

The news has allegedly sparked "shock and anger" among some X Factor production staff and contestants, though a spokeswoman for the show has firmly denied that their romance will affect the outcome of the show.

"Laura's personal relationship with Mathew has no bearing on her place in the competition," the spokeswoman told The Sun.

Ugh!!!! He's not a producer! He's part of Applause Store, who sell the tickets. He warms up the frickin' crowd!

Laura was fantastic throughout the auditions/boot camp/judge's houses, but lost it when it came to these live rounds. She's shown barely a glimmer of what we really know she's capable of.

As an aside: isn't it time we got rid of these stupid themed weeks? It's the same old songs, all the bloody time, I'm utterly sick of them all.

I didn't mind Laura, but she was too much of a "shrieker"

Yes well it had crossed my mind about Laura's relationship with the X Factor executive. It didn't look good. I mean who Laura sees in private should be her own business but this was a X Factor executive. It could as the spokesperson said nothing to do with Laura going out of the competition but maybe they saw it as an embarrassment?
Maybe Laura should have chosen between her singing career and her relationship with Matthew.
Laura is hell of a good singer and I heard some outstanding performances from her. I wasn't awful keen on the choice of song the week before and last night's though. I don't think sitting at the piano did her any favours. It wasn't until she got up from the piano that she really belted the song out.

a. Poor track mixing (Vocal vs instruments)
b. Diana factor - I'd think many laura fans did not vote yesterday as they thought it would be a easy walkover for Laura

Laura was and remains amazing and one of the best performers X-Factor has ever seen. Going out so early is just plain wrong.

As other posters have said, poor diction and "meh" performances. But others should have gone before her.

Simon was right, last night was her worse performance - damned piano. However, each week she's been nervous and lacking in confidence off stage, dare I say feeling sorry for herself. Simon has given Alexandra props for her attitude etc, I think this was a ploy to keep her in for now, but he sure started to take Laura apart as of last week.

Last night was a very bland nigth for me, not one performance stood out...god, I was kinda missing Diana, at least she would have broken my boredom.

I think her weight was an issue, not marketable

also her face was spotty in places

sadly it does not look good on a cover of an album that teenage kids look to buy. sad reality

Laura's downfall was Cheryl turning her from an individual into a pop clone.
