Is it entirely coincidental that two weeks ago the first two acts on stage were in the sing-off (Scott and Daniel) and last week also (Rachel and Austin) and this week it was the pair who sang at 2 and 3??? In fact Bad Lashes are the only act to have performed after fourth slot and been in the sing-off. It's becoming clear that many hundreds of thousand of viewers switch over half way through and they aren't as likely to vote for someone they haven't heard. A total lottery.

It was a problem in Eurovision for years even to the point where they showed the recaps in reverse order for some years to try to balance things.

If you are on early and you have a forgettable song, there is little you can actually do to save yourself. I think the voting is very close this year, so it matters more than ever.

Its also worth noting that voting numbers are down for all shows which will make it even closer. Its been proven with the 25 and overs how close the bottom few actually is.

It does seem a bit of coincidence but then again, Eoghan was first on last night and he still managed to get out of being in the bottom 2. I think it shows how popular he is with the public.

I expect Daniel to be on first next week - in a bid to get him off the show...

It kinda has to be an over 25 on first - whichever one is will no doubt be out

No point scratching around for reasons, she just didn't get enough votes to keep her out of the bottom two, that's all.

Her first song was not the best choice, and people don't just vote for the loudest voice, they vote for who entertains them.

I can see him being on first next week, seeing as he performed near the end of last night's show.

Running order does have an effect... in the first 2 series of X Factor only acts that performed in the first 4 slots only went into the bottom 2.

Barring Badlashes, the same is true for this year, and in their case there was another Girlband to split the vote with
