I was amazed that not one judge thought it comment worthy that she sang about half of her song flat

Are they all deaf?

She DID sing flat though, terribly out of tune for most of the song, forgetting to sing in the mic on occasion too. They are not tone deaf, they heard it the same as we did, they all know she was off key for the whole song, but for some reason they seem to think she is worth keeping in, god knows why, she is the worst singer IMO that has ever been in the final 12.

She WAS flat. It's not an opinion. If you got it analysed by a musicologist they would say it was flat. That's a fact.

They just spoke about what a tough time she had that week...they said sod all about her performance. She may as well have stayed at home with Diana- the actual performance is irrelevant it seems.

Yea, it's stinking of fix more and more.

Everyone else gets comments about their performance, her? Nothing. Just random comments.

...people saying that she wasn't flat. Please go and get a hearing aid or get a clue about music. 90% of the notes were very flat. Probably the worse performances so far.

I still have not worked out where they are comming from with Rachel particularly wih Simon.

Rachel has been dreadful in almost every performance and has show no sign of improving in fact she has got worse.

Her singing is usualy off key and if you listen to her voice it rough and rasping.

I didn't think it was her worst performance. Not her best either. She looked good. It was obviously a few emotional time for her and I think it took alot just being up there.

Rachel was already crying before the judges started, so there was no point telling her she was awful, she knew it. I am sure all the judges thought it was her last performance.

To be honest I wondered the same, and was waiting for them to slaughter her for it, she was awful.

Thought this was a singing competition not a "she's crap but she's trying hard and has had a crap life which is all her own fault" competition.

My bad.

She was flat and out of tune.

I was round at my friend's house watching X Factor with some mates and we all thought Rachel was awful. Everyone was expecting bad comments - but the juges praised her. One of our friends had me and others pissin ourselves with laughter with this comment "She probably had them held at gunpoint before the show to make sure she got good comments". Lol.

It is a singing contest, of course, but people are not robots and do get emotional, shock horror!!!! and in 'my opinion' she was not the worst singer last night. Therefore I'm glad she is there for next week.

OMG, she was just awful. Me & Mrs Lover thought she would surely be in the bottom two as she was by far the worst of the night and Dermie calls her name out first- WTF is going on ..... this has got to be the most absurd voting ever on X-Factor - Ruth & Laura in the bottom two - it's like asking you to pick between chocolate & chocolate - they were both miles better than Rachel.

The same could be said for Eoghan and Diana when they get praised when they were awful, It was now Rachel's turn...They obviously wanted her into week 6 if they didnt she'd have been slaughtered and hung out to dry..

Why do people find it so hard that other people can see through Rachel's bad weeks and know she has talent? She's proven she has a talent, the judges know she is talented, part of the public know she has, shes very much a marmite character...

I'm sorry but all of last night was terrible, none of the acts were particularly amazing...Anyway these theme weeks are crap...Cowell and co know Rachel is incredibly talented and know her album would be good which is why she's still there...

Now get a grip on life and face the fact that the XF is just a tv show and people leave every week!!!!

Because Rachel's a ticking bomb just waiting to go off. If she had been criticised this week things would off got messy and Rachel would have had the fit to end all fits. Simon knows this, as does Cheryl, Dannii is just scared of her and Louis... well God knows what goes on in Louis' head.

I think she was almost certainly out of tune at a few points (that big note really made me cringe) - but tuning isn't always everything. A few bum notes don't necessarily make an entire performance (hell, Mariah hit a few bad notes - ok, I thought she was boring, but the point is that even the biggest singers tend to).

Personally I didn't like Rachel's performance, I haven't really thought she's delivered on any performance to date, but tuning issues don't necessarily mean that it should be viewed as automatically being awful.

IMO they didn't criticise her because as Cheryl remarked thoughout her whole performance she looked broken and completely down on her confidence.
After the press she's had this week is it any wonder.
These people are not professionals and are all just learning to come to terms with this sort of stuff - yes they entered the comp and yes they will need to learn to deal with it which hopefully Rachel will.
I for one give credit to them this week that they didn't feel the need to kick someone when they are so clearly down.

Whilst I agree with that, the problem is that they can't keep on with the pretense forever

Assuming that she isn't going to win, which seems unlikely, sooner or later she's going to get voted out. Simple as that.

So we might as well have the tantrum now. In fact ,we might as well have had it last night, and kept Laura in. I don't see the point of delaying it - in fact , it will make it worse, because the longer it goes on the more deluded she will get that she's going to win

But it wasn't just a few bum notes! If I'd paid to watch a performer who sang like that I would want my money back.
Fair enough, in a recording studio they could auto tune her. But at this stage in this kind of competition you would expect everyone to be pretty well in tune.
